This is disgraceful and disgusting. This is a large part of why I struggle to ever accept the US as having any sort of moral high ground when it comes to disinformation and propaganda.

I was going to post that same link. Anyone involved in making the asinine decision to pull that crap, needs to be fired and prosecuted for any crimes it involved.

In the middle of a global pandemic, there is absolutely no excuse for deliberately making it worse.

Reading those stories and how the US used a fake vaccine program to get information on Bin Laden, the rise of conspiracy theories around covid make a lot more sense. When the US has weaponised medicine, you can be sure they aren’t the only ones. 
It’s harder and harder to find quality and verifiable Information. News and Media companies used to have to comply with standards, social media companies don’t and it has opened the floodgates for disinformation. Not to say the media companies are always truthful- but they could be held accountable.
