It is unfortunate yet it is where we find ourselves. Edited July 12, 2024 by brenthutch

So it was just talk that he never put to the test by dying in a crash. Certainly he had his share of crazy shit happen, so he must have kept flying the airplane. Clearly this is at best an area of metaphorical expertise for you.

They hate who he says he hates. They want him to be a dictator so that he can do what he wants. They're just too stupid to understand that a despot doesn't care who he hurts. And too dumb to remember that. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/1/8/18173678/trump-shutdown-voter-florida From the link: "He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting". Trump would have had no specifics about anything. Biden's answers were intelligent and well conceived. As are many democrats and those who understand the issues. Unfortunately I have to agree with: The low information voter is another name for the ignorant voter. There is just not enough margin for error to risk a Trump win. IMO Biden should step down. Too many Americans don't understand what the 2025 plan is about. Too many are busy trying to make tight budgets stretch and falsely believe Trump will improve it. I think it's too late to swap candidates. It would create a sickening mess at the very least. Amazing how ignorant America has become. When did we stop teaching world history? Amazing how ignorant America has become. When did we stop teaching world history? Hi Mark, That is a fair argument. On the converse, I simply do not believe that Biden can beat Trump. That leaves the only option of replacing him. If you take the debate, the Geo S interview & tonite's presser, he is looking old. I think it is only going to get worse for Biden. As I have posted before; I like Joe Biden, I think he is a decent person. My one & only reason for wanting to replace Joe Biden is to defeat Trump in Nov. As for supporting Biden: I've been sending him $500/month for the last 5 months. No more, it is money wasted. If there is someone else on the ticket, I'll start sending money. Jerry Baumchen Jerry, this one's tough. I cannot imagine living in the reality of the death of democracy. At least if someone else takes the ticket, you'll get your money back. I don't think the world understands what happens if Trump gets in. My social security is actually rather nice.....while it still exists. Maybe it is time to visit Oren!

Thus spoke Joe.

I believe if Biden had strength of character he could back someone and a viable candidate against Trump could be put in place. A lot can be done in 100 days. Rather than polls I quite like watching the betting odds as I think it is a more realistic demographic. 3 months ago Trump was the slight favourite, now it’s a landslide in his favour and odds for Kamila are better than those for Biden. If the dems put up Biden Trump will win.

brenthutch 444 #420 July 12, 2024 (edited) I’m witnessing a case of mass hysterical amnesia. You guys are forgetting that we survived the first Trump presidency and we will survive the second. This talk about “THE END OF DEMOCRACY!!!” Is just hyperbolic campaign rhetoric, nothing more. Will it be a bit embarrassing? Yes but no more than Biden calling him self a black women or saying Putin is the president of Ukraine. Edited July 12, 2024 by brenthutch
