That combined with some type of generator from the wheels and have some form of power bank in the trunk that gives one very extended mileage. Kind of an Anker 767 for EVs thing. I always assumed that 220v residential used lighter gauge wire to save on cost, but after 5 min of googling I see that is not the case for Europe at least. The standard is 2.5mm2, which is between 14GA and 12GA, the two common US wire sizes. The Tesla Universal Charger in EU has 13A max for the residential power plug (vs 12A in the US) which means you will charge ~2x as fast, which is actually a big deal. 8 miles an hour vs 4 miles an hour. 8 could work for home charging if bringing a new line to the garage was too expensive. Given that most homes have the breaker panel IN the garage, you're hiring the wrong electricians. That's a very inexpensive add.

Maybe where you live. In my part of the world the service entrance and main come overhead to a mast on the highest part of the house and go through a conduit to a panel often in a basement. I guess you may be used to attached garages and service lines underground.

I added a 50amp for the RV pad at the house in Florida - I don't think I spent $60 . Sure was nice to have the fifth wheel ready for hurricane season or getting it ready for a trip. Dryer outlets work well and can get you between 5800 and 10,000 watts. The sort of extension cord adapter called a "quick 240" will get you 3000 watts. And it's often very easy to add an outlet right at the load center, then run an extension to where you need it. Years ago I had one of the first Leafs (short range) and I'd carry a spare breaker and extension cord. When I was visiting friends I knew, I'd just pop the breaker in their panel for an hour, charge, then take it out. That was sort of a pain in the butt actually, but it worked.

You don't reward the people you visit for their hospitality? Do you even have friends that are willing to open their homes to hosting you??? We ALWAYS return favors in some fashion. It's what nice considerate people do. Hey Oren! We STILL owe you a dinner.

Call me old fashioned but I continue to draw the line at my employees selling my stuff on the side or giving off the record discounts without permission. That is theft. Now I'll need to go back to see who was working when Bill was jumping.

There are still cars that use leaded gas, and I passed several Amish farms this afternoon (driving back from Ontario), where they were using horses and buggies. In a number of years, there may no longer be as wide a variety of gasoline cars, that’s it Wendy P.

I hope you're right. Is see CA at the forefront of pushing people to EVs. California – In 2022, California approved a rule requiring 100% of new light- and medium-duty vehicles sold in the state to be zero-emission by 2035. Delaware – In late 2023, Delaware finalized its clean car regulations. In 2027, 43% of new cars and trucks sold in Delaware will be electric or hybrid models. This percentage will increase to 82% in 2032, and the rule will expire the following year. Illinois – By 2035, auto manufacturers must sell 100% new ZEVs. All vehicles purchased and leased by a governmental unit after January 1, 2025, must be zero-emission or converted to zero emissions. Shall I continue?
