Olympics - Satanic?

All my evangelical relatives are kicking off online that the Olympics are satanic. Apparently it’s not just the trans/gay music events - although that’s part of it.

Yep. Supposed to be some disrespect to the Last Supper. Our Speaker of the House, third in line for the Presidency mind you, was twitterpated over that. Might also have been the troupe of actors dressed like Marie Antoinette and holding their bloody heads symbolizing who knows what that wound them up. Our American Taliban are feeling very empowered these days.

well pretty much everything is 'satanic' to the evangelicals at some time or another.  Alice Cooper, Kiss, music in general, fags, rainbows, communists, atheists, drinking, outdoor concerts, circus performances, magicians, you name it.

If normal people have done it, then some christian somewhere has called it satanic.... which holds as much weight as their own christianity.

Don’t I know it! My mother flipped out and refused to let my aunt babysit again after she let us watch Mary Poppins! Was also forbidden from listening to anything other than Christian music as a teenager.

For me it was watching a music video of the rock band Incubus (lead singer always sings shirtless) - apparently he looked "demonic".

The Olympic games are not satanic, but they are clearly pagan in origin and were held to honour Zeus. So there is that.

No Jerry, there is a lot to see and dismissing it is to ignore one of the most important realities in this election. It should be discussed and denigrated in the hopes of diminishing the power it holds over some voters. The right wants to deflect attention away from real issues to what they see as the more powerful and critical religious reasons to vote Trump. That is, at the end of the day they want to destroy Jesus and burn your bibles so the rest of it doesn't really matter.

He went out of his way to contact SOCOM at MacDill AFB to 'out me' as a communist that SOCOM should not be doing business with (at Skydive City where they trained regularly) me because of my beliefs as some sort of "anti-american demon commie from canada"

Happens when people don't understand the difference between Christianity, Greek Mythology and art.

Funny thing is, I am convinced that 99.9% of those outraged couldn't tell you the names of those present, nor the location of he Last Supper.
