Even funnier when you look at the countries that are.

Why not show some cojones and come right out and say you'd rather have Trump than Harris as our next President. You're aware it's one or the other, right?

Hi Joe,

This is what bugs me about some people.  They know that they want Trump to be Pres.  Yet, they will not state it outright.

Cowardly.

PS)  I'm sure everyone here knows where I stand.

But they all have some socialist policies. It's not an all-or-nothing thing. And Kamala can't, single-handed, make the country socialist no matter how hard she tried. There's that whole Congress, Constitution, elections, and Supreme Court thing to contend with.

So just as you assure us that Trump can't run us into the ground in 4 years, neither can Kamala. But Trump is promising to set the stage to increase the personal power of the President, especially if he's Republican, and Kamala is more respectful of our democratic republic's systems.

And that's what you think a policy is, yeah?

Is that more silly or less silly than saying cloud storage isn't a physical place?

Back in 2010 people were only just coming to terms with cloud storage and I’m pretty sure your average punter couldn’t even explain it coherently today or understand how it really works.

Without watching the full context of the video, I will withhold judgement as to whether she didn’t understand it or was simplifying it for the sake of the discussion. It sounds like it was a talk on the legal landscape and therefore probably not the place for a highly technical discussion.

I’d love to see the OP explain it in lay terms to us in less than 2 minutes. In reality I think even people like normiss may struggle (not knocking your skills Mark!)

On the same note I really doubt the OP understands what a policy is, or could coherently explain it.

I agree. Back in 2016 you could understand the reticence to come out and say it as the world was a different place.

Now it’s complete cowardice to pretend you’re not.

One of my best friends is a Trump supporter and we’ve had some really good arguments over it all. He says that Trump is a crass and vulgar person but that his agenda to upend conventional politics makes that a strength - but my friend has the backbone to stand by his views.

A pox on both their houses, that said we did survive four years of Trump and if right track wrong track polls were a proxy, voters thought we were better off under Trump than Biden. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don’t.

Thank you. At least you only moonwalked around it twice. So no more denying you prefer Trump over Harris.

Interesting thread this, someone mentions Harris and the red mist ensues, blinded by rage you are unable to cite a single example of a policy of hers that would damage the nation.

They are social democracies, where the policies put the welfare of the citizens first. Social welfare, free or low cost education, medical treatment, pensions for the elderly are all socialist policies. And free and fair elections without political corruption. Those are some of the richest, most stable countries on the planet. I think you are confusing socialism with communism, the worst example being North Korea, effectively a dictatorship, exactly what Trump wants to bring to the US. I doubt very much that Kamala has much in common with the countries on that list you posted. In fact Trump is more closely aligned with most of them

In just saying the average American was better off during the Trump administration than during the Biden administration. Inflation, high interest rates, record credit card debt, out of control border, record number of fentanyl deaths, wars raging around the world and a senile old man in the White House possibly being replaced by a cackling hyena who can’t read a teleprompter, or do a press conference. Yes, I get it…orange man bad, but no worse than our alternative.

Price controls? Yeah that’s worked real well every time. Sounds more like Venezuela or Cuba.

When someone promotes 'from each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs,' it's too reminiscent of a book I once read.

Yawn. The racist backward teleprompter jokes are over 13 years old. It wasn’t clever or funny then and it’s just as pathetic now.

If we are going to take the piss out of needing a teleprompter why not mention magic mike? Or cause he’s a white republican it doesn’t count?

Trump repeatedly makes statements that, with minimal effort, can be shown to be falsehoods (aka "lies").  He is a proven pathological liar.

It is remarkable that there are so many gullible people who will believe anything he says.

This is Kamala Harris critics corner, not a whataboutism thread. I even used the magic words “on topic”. Let’s see if BillV gives you a time out for thread drift.

Well that hit a nerve didn’t it? You criticise her about teleprompter use and I call you out  and if you’re happy to criticise her, why not Mike. That isn’t thread drift, it’s purely you reacting strongly to being called out for hypocrisy

It’s Brent’s goalposts, only he can move them. This is only to criticize Kamala Harris, and no one else unless it pleases Brent.

To keep it on topic, I wish she’d worked harder to set up bipartisan relationships; both of the Clintons and Biden worked on that. I think either Reagan or GHW Bush were the last Republicans to do so.

Right now is the campaign; it’s not the time

Yes, I realised after I replied to him this is his ‘safe space’ and as critics corner needs to be only posts knocking her, or they are “off topic”

Says the guy who thinks I said Harris was a socialist

I think you denied a comparison of how countries with policies similar to Harris’s are doing because they weren’t really socialist.
