Mud flap mount

What are your thoughts on mud flap altimeter mounts? What’s going to happen if I face plant on landing? I think some of them are soft do they stay in place? Any recommendations?

I've had one for more than 10 (Look Ma) years and I love it.  It's always there and does not interfere with my right wrist. In the old days we wore it on our chest strap.

Yes mine is still on my chest strap and I’m thinking on moving it not sure weather to go soft or ridged.

So you’ve been jumping that wedge one for ten years without any issues. The Velcro holds up okay.

No negative issues.  I love it.  The only time I take it off is for a reserve repack and that's really not necessary.  I use the one in the picture made by a friend who unfortunately died last year from non skydiving illness.  I think they are still available.

I've used the bonehead mount.  I was taking it off each time for packing.

I never remove mine when it's getting packed.  I only remove it for the reserve repack.
