The US, not to be outdone, said “hold my beer” and spent $7,000,000,000 on eight charging stations.
(At last count, for those Captain Pedantics out there)

Crystal River Nuclear Plant - Wikipedia - The Crystal River nuclear plant cost $400M to build and will cost $1.6B to decommission over 60 years.

So what?

And you continue to make the false claim that $7B has been spent.  $7B has been allocated, very little of it has been spent

We accept you apology and look forward to your retraction

The US planned to install thousands of EV chargers. Only 7 have been built. - The Washington Post

You know that’s a lie. How much money had actually been spent, at last count?

Clearly you think your argument can’t stand on its own merits and is therefore invalid.

From TK’s article

“Nigro says that the process — states have to submit plans to the Biden administration for approval, solicit bids on the work, and then award funds — has taken much of the first two years since the funding was approved. “I expect it to go much faster in 2024,” he added.”

2024 is 75% through and we are up to eight. (At last count)

Which part of that reply mentions how much money has been spent at last count?

Is it none of it mentions that, because you were telling a barefaced lie you can’t possibly support?

Until you can prove otherwise I’m going with $7,000,000,000

“Twelve additional states have awarded contracts for constructing the charging stations”

Done

Here’s a synopsis of this conversation:

Me: How much money has been spent?

Brent: 8 stations in 2024 of money!

Gowlerk: No seriously, how much money?

Brent: 12 states of money!

I mean, you know how painfully obvious it is you’re just covering up yet another lie, right?

I maintain the Federal Government has spent more than $7,000,000,000 for charging stations and from what I have read, only eight charging stations have been built. If the money was sent to the states, it has still been spent by the federal government. One official said it was taking so long because it had to comply with DEI guidelines, environmental impact assessments, prevailing wage requirements, feasibility studies and a host of additional regulations and requirements. The seven billion + allocated by the IRA was expected to create 5000 stations, I would be surprised to see half of that amount. The rest will be gobbled up by bureaucrats, red tape and kickbacks to cronies.

If the government already spent the money, then there's nothing more to "gobble up". Because if there is, then all the money HASN'T been spent yet.

So get it straight - has all the money already been spent (past tense), or are you just lying again?

Ok, lets see how long this lasts...

So if $7Bn has been spent then what are the next 2492 being built with, wishes and fairy dust?

Again, why such a painfully transparent lie?

What is painful is, they won’t be.

And yet you are here in this thread explicitly telling us that more will be built in multiple states... for no money. How are they going to manage it?

Spent by The Federal Government. Currently, the $7,000,000,000 spent by the federal government is languishing in State coffers where is will be whittled away by bureaucrats and cronies.

A handy relocating of the goalposts, yet still you have zero evidence to support it.

This has "2023 won't even be in the top five (warmest years)" kind of prediction vibe to me.

Yes!  Come on BH!  Bet that 2024 won't even be in the top 5!  You can't lose, what with everything FOX News has been telling you!  I'll bet you $1000 payable to my/your favorite charity.

Proven wrong - they just allocated 521 million a little over a month ago.  Not $7B

we accept your apology
