Woke is dead

So in other words if they were the most qualified for the job it didn’t matter. Gotcha

An entire department at Johnson and Johnson got wiped out by someone with terrific skills and qualifications - and a few issues.

We had a department manager whose agenda mattered more than than professional responsibility, and it was a disaster.

Only an idiot ignores red flags that guarantee overwhelming problems in the future.

An employee is usually part of a team and dropping a woke SJW into a workgroup is a recipe for disaster, (according to her) especially when there are many other qualified candidates who are less likely to be high maintenance.

So you can use an arbitrary reason to exclude many potential employees and still end up with a sufficiently qualified and competent workforce to do the job?

This is brand new information! (For the right)

Business folks tend to be about business, not self righteous crusades.

And yet here we are talking about candidates for business jobs being excluded on the basis that they are probably about self righteous crusades, not business.

Its a funny old world inside your head. I bet you can believe six impossible things before breakfast.

And entire companies have been wiped out by people with agendas, whether it’s money at any cost (Enron).

You’re just pissed that social rules dictate that you treat people you think are weird as adults with equal rights. You don’t get to decide necessarily any more

Wait a minute. You said people should be hired based on qualifications and ability only.

Now you are suggesting it matters how they fit within a team, or if they can properly collaborate.

Those are two different things, which I am sure you are smart enough to know.

Talking in circles again.

More evidence from another thread

“The audience of the long-running show hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski is down 35% among total viewers, averaging just 720,000, and down 37% among viewers in the advertiser-coveted demographic ages 25-54, according to Nielsen Media Research.”

“MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” has lost 43% of its total audience in 2024 since Election Day”

Looks like the Lefties’ self righteous intolerance and hatred extends to their own kind.

Meanwhile at the other end of the political news spectrum…

“Fox News has seen its audience surge. In November, the Murdoch family’s network captured a 70% share of the cable news audience in the weeks since the president-elect won another term in the White House; that’s the largest in its history.”

Looks like Americans like winners, not whiners.

So you would be in favor of not hiring the best person for the job - if the person was black and the people in the company were bigots who were guaranteed to cause overwhelming problems with the guy.

So much for "I don't see race, only talent."

Awwwwww are you sad no one took the bait? Well forget that, tell me more about your theory on how the Elite have no agendas or ulterior motives, they just want to do business? I’m sure your fellow republicans will be very interested in that idea.

I have met plenty of right-wingers who are religiously intolerant and harbour hatred towards their own kind.

That is why I fear extremists on both ends of the spectrum.

Pour enough alcohol into someone and you might hear the truth.

In vino veritas

Sounds like employing someone who says they'll have a few drinks at a christmas party is a huge red flag, a guarantee of trouble and should lead to all their CVs being dumped in the bin ;)

If you say so but it does seem odd for a Head of HR to publicly bemoan a sensitive corporate internal matter with a plus one at a party.

It may seem odd - that a competent head of HR would do something that could both cripple the company and get her fired - but keep in mind that it just happens to support his latest attack on the loser libs, so there's no possibility he just made it up.  He, after all, has a long history of being scrupulously honest here, and never says things just to get people going.

I wonder if she called him "Sir", before explaining a policy that could see her fired? Suppose?

"This big, strong man came up to me - he came up to me, he was crying, he said - 'Sir, I just can't take the pronouns any more!  Thank you so much for stopping them!'  He was the head of Exxon, head of Exxon HR.  But the phony press won't tell you that, like they won't tell you that my inauguration broke all the crows records by a lot."

She was just implementing policy, (enthusiastically BTW)  In this instance I was just the husband of one of their VPs. I am no longer an Airborne Ranger, bank officer or DZO, I am just a house husband, spouse of an executive and Dad. I am ok with that.

I would strongly advise not hiring any troublesome bible thumpers. They make other workers uncomfortable.

Any HR manager who is prepared to voice opinions like that at a company event is a problem. Although I do wonder about the full context because how does that topic even come up?

Not knowing the full story and context I can see an argument for an applicant being rejected for expressing a political, religious or other controversial view on a CV. We don’t want to know that you’re passionate about guns or equal rights when you’re applying to do an unrelated job.

Simply having pronouns isn’t expressing an extreme view, lots of people have CV’s on recruitment templates or with professional help and it may not even be something they care about. Even if it is a personal preference it’s not an issue. If the head of HR is that prejudiced it’s probably doing them a favour and helping avoid a toxic workplace with awful executives.

Certainly any REAL HR manager who voices opinions like that is a problem.  However, keep in mind that the right wingers here often have stories here that conveniently support whatever their latest agenda was.  I recall at least two right wingers here who claimed they had to shutter their businesses due to Obamacare; this allowed them to be 1) outraged and 2) prove that Obama was destroying the American economy by forcing them to fire their hardworking employees who were just trying to support their family and pay for their mother's medications etc etc.  One of them quickly forgot, and a few weeks later was back to complaining about his moron employee who did X and Y to one of his trucks.

Indeed.  I put them on my emails simply so that it's not so clear that people are doing it because they are trans.  If right wingers don't know who to hate, it diffuses their anger.

Finally a concise definition of what 'woke' is - pronouns on social media. Seems like such a petty thing to get so worked up about, but whatever floats your boat.

Woke is dead but the right wing trolls here cannot stop talking about and then starting new threads because the old ones got stale
