From NOAA's "global warming and hurricane" fact sheet: "The proportion of major hurricanes has increased in the Atlantic in recent decades (since 1980)." " . . .human-caused global warming had increased hurricane extreme hourly rainfall rates by 11% and extreme 3-day accumulated rainfall amounts by 8%." And since the site is shutting down, I think we need to compile a list of this band's greatest hits! Some good ones that I can remember: trying to lecture a semiconductor engineer from Qualcomm about the Shockley–Queisser limit (which he really knew nothing about) linking an academic paper and proclaiming its contents as "facts and observations, not models!" when it was not, and the word "model" was in the paper title predicting Tesla to go bankrupt by 2025 predicting 2023 "won't even hit the top five" warmest years not knowing what a temperature anomaly was (despite posting graphs of it for years) starting his "hurricane season" thread earlier and earlier in the year He's spent thousands of hours trying to say that "it's not warming up at all", cited hundreds of links, made thousands of posts, and it was all for naught. He's now just started a new song: "yes it warmed up but NOTHING is happening" (with his arbitrary, movable goalpost of "nothing" where he's the judge and jury), but the site shutdown will cut that short while he screams into the void... As for me, I'd rather listen to Nickelback.

No...I think I'm just one of those people who seem to remember quite a lot compared to the average person. Many people call it photographic memory - but the more accurate term is actually eidetic memory. It's just how I've always been, and it's a separate, but also interesting discussion

As for me, I'd rather listen to Nickelback. No my young and very confused friend, I just bought it to everyone’s attention when it did not warm as predicted. My position has always been: 1. it’s not warming (when it’s not warming, using NOAA data) 2. It has been warming since the end of the last ice age (in fits and starts). 3.slightly warmer temperatures and higher CO2 are a net benefit. 4. Even if higher CO2 levels were deleterious, it wouldn’t stop China, India and the rest of the developing world from continuing to use fossil fuels. 5. The predictions of doom have repeatedly failed to materialize. Those are all pretty solid points. But you forgot about a couple of your greatest hits “The reason China is building so many coal fired power plants is because solar is more economically viable” And “EV sales will overtake ICE vehicle sales in the next two years” (2 years ago)

You've hit on all the denier points for sure! 1) "It's not warming, stupid!" 2) "Of course it's warming! But we have nothing to do with it, stupid!" 3) "OK we have something to do with it, but all the changes are good, stupid!" 4) "OK maybe the changes are bad, but it's too hard/too late to stop them, stupid!" Just as a hint - when you say things like to people, they are not the ones who look stupid afterwards.

Sure, and one out of 5 isn't that bad here. #3 is totally dependent on the size of the mesh holes in your net, which seems to vary. The rest, meh... Anyway it's been getting warmer here since the sun came up, time to freak out.

The fact of the matter is that there is no climate crisis and no amount of hyperbole can change that. There have been dozens of pearl clutching prognostications that have failed to materialize. You are like the guy in every generation who stands on a street corner wearing a sandwich board claiming “the end is near”
