Interesting following the news how Musk led Trump by 12 hours in calling for the funding bill changes etc.

If US government shutdown ATC are affected and it may not be such a happy holiday season for many

I just love how Musk has bought himself a country.

I’ve recently realised that no one actually cares about corruption anymore. No one cares about any unethical or immoral behaviour in government or public life. They only care if they think it’s being kept secret and someone is getting away with something that is being hidden from them. So you get this weird situation where only the lies are taken seriously, and the stuff that’s actually happening doesn’t matter.

So now Trump can say “Here’s Elon, he gave me a hundred million dollars and now he’s in charge of government funding to his own companies!” And people think ‘oh wow Elon’s so clever he’ll be great at this!’

But on the other hand Biden says “You know that Hunter pay to play stuff is all made up right?” And people think ‘you dodgy fucker I knew you were up to something!’

It is, well it was a nice country. It was the USSC that opened the doors for oligarchs to take control.

I have said it a few times, but I am firmly convinced that history will show the Citizens United decision, followed by speechnow.org v FEC and McCutcheon v FEC, as the beginning of the end for a democratic USA.

lol, your country just got bought by an illegal immigrant from South America.

After all that macho talk about how you will fight for freedom, fight against oppression, you just bent over, bit the pillow and gave it all away like a cheap hooker.

I think you meant South Africa…but I understand your impairment.

He did mean South Africa, and do you have any answer for his substance? If not, how about if I ask what's your thought on how Musk appears to have bought his way into power in the government. Have you ever read anything by the Founding Fathers and the writing of the Constitution? They weren't for that kind of thing.

Course he hasn’t, it’s not up. As in beating up Homo’s, rounding up undesirables, talking up Jesus, and divvying up power so those who truly deserve life’s pleasures can move up.

They can blame Biden, and that's all they need for a happy holiday season.

It’s interesting how Trump wants Biden to be the one to take the hit for the debt ceiling.

To Jakee’s point on corruption. I wish that Biden would take a stand against Musk. Even if it as small a step as suspending all government contracts with his companies until it is clear that there is no conflict of interest in his new role.

Can you explain a bit more?

Musk has us by the short curlies and everyone knows it: he controls our satellite launches, by and large, and his own private communications satellite system. With X he can do vastly more than buy ink by the barrel. Not too shabby for an illegal.

Citizens United paved the way for the Ds to spend more than a billion dollars to buy an election and usurp American democracy. However at the end of the day Democracy prevailed and the will of the people triumphed.

You’re already down the path of dictatorships and authoritarian rule, just nationalise them and seize control.

There is probably a legitimate national security concern, that could be justified (if you had an independent judiciary)

That sounds like something out of the lefty playbook.

I believe you’re strongly against illegal immigrants?

Are you ok with an illegal immigrant dictating your countries policies? Or is Elon exempt and if he is why?

One illegal billionaire does not put a stress on our country, eleven million indigents does. It’s all about context, a subtlety which is obviously beyond your grasp.

Indigent doesn’t fairly describe the many millions of illegals working in important industries, especially construction, every day. I’m not in favor of open borders or birthright citizenship. But I’d rather not demonize those who put food on my table or fix the roof over my head when an absolute asshole of a billionaire is on offer for the task.

Turns out that in the past 12 months the USA under Biden deported more illegals than Trump did in any year of his presidency, 271,484.  The previous highest was in 2014, under Obama.

Yet people like JB, BH, etc have swallowed Trump's lies hook, line and sinker.

Illegal’s can’t access welfare and generally have to work to pay their bills, as fact that’s lost on you it seems.

Seems your one billionaire is doing a bloody good job of putting stress on 800 000 federal workers though, but he’s rich and white so it’s ok.

So for clarity - whether or not immigrants follow the law is irrelevant?
