Back in the 1990's Georgia put some teeth in their anti-illegal-immigrant laws.  Specifically they told farmers that THEY could be arrested if they hired illegals.  Result - crops rotted in the field.  Local food prices soared. Farmers lost billions in profits.  Dozens of farms went bankrupt and were purchased by big farming conglomerates for pennies on the dollar.  The only reason it didn't cause a nationwide catastrope is that other states stepped in and provided produce to the affected areas.

And you want to do that to the whole country.
