kallend 2,094 #208 March 27 I'd like to know what Trump voters here (if any are brave enough to admit they did it) think about stuff that's happened in the past 2 months: Pardons that bless and invite insurrectionary violence, the purges of career lawyers at the Justice Department and in the Southern District of New York, inspectors general across the government, and senior FBI agents. The attorney general’s command that lawyers obey the president over their own understanding of the Constitution, the appointment of people such as Kash Patel who view their loyalty to the Emperor as more compelling than their constitutional oath, the emperor’s declaration that he and the attorney general are the sole authoritative interpreters of federal law for the executive branch. The transformation of ordinary spending responsibilities into tools to punish perceived enemies, the stripping of security clearances from opponents including the previous president, the threat of criminal prosecutions for speech deemed unfavorable, and the verbal attacks on judges for enforcing the law. Among other things.

Oddly enough, despicable though Trump may be, our prospects under Harris would be significantly worse. There's a difference between handling things badly and not handling them at all. It's like the sign: 1) Pull 2) Pull at a proper altitude 3) Pull at a proper altitude while stable etc. We still may wind up like Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cuba or other such garden spots, but at least that's not the goal - which is a measurable improvement. Sure, but you also have to consider that, oddly enough, your prospects under Harris would be significantly better and she’s not despicable. Do it’s a balancing act. All gigglers aren’t idiots. Beyond that we’re both just guessing. I further guess she’d be far less susceptible to being bamboozaled by Putin and would likely have over compensated by installing actual competent people in her cabinet and would have listened to her military leaders. I further guess the market wouldn’t be crashing and democracy in America wouldn’t be trembling. Also if Sotomayor keels over the Supreme Court wouldn’t automatically go to 7-2.

She's a certified idiot. As a person, I liked Jimmy Carter a lot. Dick Nixon, OTOH, was truly dreadful. Having said that, we are still stuck with the damage born out of Carter's naivete but Nixon did a much better job than I'd prefer to give him credit. Ripping DEI/woke out by its roots and at least attempting to address the debt gives Trump the edge. Undoing decades worth of well intentioned damage can't be done gently. I won't argue that idiots might be credentialed or have certifications, I just don't think she's one. The definitions of DEI are an amorphous blob at this stage so I'll only say that I think the idea is good even the application might be messy. I worry more about tariffs on French wine than I do about the national debt, but that's me. And no way do I give the shitheads a pass on how they are going about undoing the so called damage. Hi dogyks, I thought Carter was truly a nice person. His Achillies Heel was he thought everyone else was as good as he was. I thought Nixon was a true statesman. His Achillies Heel was that he was completely paranoid. IMO the vast majority of people have both good & bad in them. Trump excepted.
