jakee 1,553 #4 February 4 A problem with how these things are covered is that Trump and his supporters are almost always allowed to get away with treating every individual instance of white supremacist speech, policy, association or staffing as just one individual thing on its own with no connection to the whole. Then every individual thing can be explained away on its own, that speech was misinterpreted, that dinner with a neo-Nazi was accidental, we didn't know that guy was into white-power when we hired him etc etc. When you put it all together though it's undeniable, but they're never hammered on it. Pure, virulent racism. Like Pete Hegseth complaining that just because the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is black, no-one knows if he's the best man for the job. Well now Pete is SecDef and everyone knows he is not the best man for that job. Nothing in his CV would get him into the interview pool for CEO of a medium size company if he wasn't country club buddies with the board, but who cares? He's a white guy who's willing to push the racist agenda and that's all the qualification that matters right now.

jakee 1,553 #8 February 9 What a weekend for white power in America. First, both Trump and Elon come out in favour of rehiring this avowed racist into a position of huge power with zero oversight over government spending that affects every person in America. Second, Trump's immigration policy just became explicitly racist. Trump who is dedicated to reducing immigration to zero and has ordered all asylum seekers to be turned away has found one ethnic group in the world who are so hard done by that he is actually inviting them to seek asylum in the US and ordering that it be granted.... white South Africans. Even I didn't think they would stop trying to hide it this quickly.

Person who made the attached tweet has been given a senior position in the administration. 2. Executive order prioritising white South African immigrants. 3. Elon’s side kick who resigned after racist statements reinstated after support from the President and Vice President 4. Spanish language translation on the White House website removed and replaced with a button saying “Go home” 5. Nazi salute at the inauguration. 6. ALL Jan 6 rioters pardoned. You’re also missing the critical part of the article where it originally said “GO HOME” and linked to a video of Trump campaigning. I know that only lasted a day or two before the outcry got it changed.

So you don’t think that “Go Home” linking to a video of Trump campaigning was intended to send a message? Or you think it was a mistake? It wasn’t just a poor choice of wording as it didn’t take you to the homepage.
jakee 1,553 #22 February 10 Just two completely unrelated mistakes which have absolutely nothing to do with each other, nothing to do with his extreme deportation drive against mostly Spanish speakers, and nothing to do with the openly white supremacist staffers he has supported and nominees he’s put forward to the Senate. Every single one of these is an isolated incident that can be explained away. It would be pure conspiracy theory to try and draw any wider conclusions.
