Tell me again how Trump isn't a Russian stooge?

Recommended Posts

The early stages of the farcical Ukraine peace talks between.... the US and Russia only are like the worlds most twisted game of 'who said what'. Which of the statements below came from Trump, Hegseth and Rubio and which ones from Putin and Lavrov?

"Ukraine cannot join Nato"

"Ukraine cannot have its old borders back"

"If Ukraine wanted a seat at the table they shouldn't have started the war"

"Russia only strikes legitimate military targets"

"Russia may not have to make any concessions at all for peace"

"Zelenskyy is a dictator and his people hate him"

Spoiler alert, in a truly insane turn of events all but one of those things was actually said by the USA. Could anyone tell which one is Russian without looking it up?

Well, you are right of course and it should be obvious. NATO needs to dump us as a member and send troops to Ukraine now. All members need to put down the worry beads, stop spinning the prayer wheel, and start demonstrating with action and checkbooks what all must now know to be true: the US can no longer be trusted with any nations security or secrets and we do in fact have a willing Russian asset for President.

You are correct this time. The expression that comes to mind is “shit or get off the pot”. And yes, that goes for Canada too. If NATO wants to remain a valid set of allies it needs to push Trump aside and get on with it.

Wholeheartedly agreed.  I wish I had any reason to think that this was Trump's goal all along.

Hi Joe, I assumed you'd say something like, there is always an alternative to war.

We can enjoy our first live detonation of small battlefield nukes, they're low in yield and fallout so what could possibly go wrong.

Trump is one-dimensional enough that the only question to be addressed is "what's in it for me?"

Thus, when he blurts out nonsense like Ukraine starting the whole thing, one needs to figure out what benefit he imagines he will gain from that stance.

Doesn’t take much figuring out - Putin has dazzled him with how much money they can both make mining for minerals in the land that’s been stolen from Ukraine. They’ve pretty much said this out loud multiple times.

"Listen, Mr. Trump - you stand with me against those genocidal allies and you can have all the resources of Great Britain AND our people at Peenemunde!"  The "art of the deal" guy isn't going to turn THAT down.

Actually it also explains why he wants Greenland, Canada, Gaza, and the Panama Canal.

Putin has told him his penis is larger because Russia is the largest country in the world, and Trump is desperate to make up the shortfall in land area...

Incoming German Leader Frederich Merz is openly arguing for a complete break from Russian aligned Donald Trump and NATO. If only the Europeans could very nicely offer to come to the immediate aid of Ukraine with support and security troops, newer longer range missles, and anything else just laying around the holler' and good 'ol Zelenskyy could very nicely offer to jointly develop, with his generous friends, Ukraines vast mineral wealth Putin and Trump would both be in the borscht.

Europe has already supplied long range cruise missiles that the US would not. Europe provided tanks when the US would not. Europe provided fighter jets that the US would not.

As all who pay attention are aware. The point is that Europe's incentives to do a lot more are now readily apparent to even the dullest contemplators. Now Europe needs to not only counter Russia but the US as well.

I agree that Trump is unbelievably awful.

Unfortunately, Harris is worse.

Whatever she might have done that you don't like I'll wager that throwing Ukraine to the Russian Wolves or disregarding the core tenants of our Constitution wouldn't be on the list. She'd have been a placeholder at worst whereas Trump has already destroyed NATO and stacked the Cabinet with incompetent toadies and ninnies, so no 25th Amendment action would be possible, and is now stacking the Joint Chiefs and senior Officer Corps with those he thinks will be malleable sycophants. And that is not a half list of his already committed offenses. You have it wrong in spades.
