Sure, what else. Certainly nothing that could be uncovered by a years long Congressional investigation and FBI involvement in the run up to the next election I’m sure. Honestly the sheer volume of partisan corruption and hypocrisy engaged in by the Republican Party really is starting to make it difficult to care, even when it’s this blatant. 
 

Funny that Trump said ‘you’re telling me this for the first time’ to a reporter who asked him about it just now. I guess that must mean none of the people involved who report directly to the Oval Office have enough basic respect for Trump to even let him know they fucked up on his watch. ‘Only the best’ people indeed. At least none of them were DEI, imagine what might have happened then.

What worries me about this is two things.

First, Jeffery Goldberg was responsible and honest enough to 1) not reveal all the leaked plans (since that would be a national security problem) and 2) inform both the government and the public that it happened.  How many times have top secret plans been leaked in this manner to someone who either forwards them to friends ("hey, look what I got!") or worse yet, sells them to China/Russia/Saudi Arabia?  Because you know this isn't the first time it's happened.

Second, adding journalists to a chat was done without a second thought, almost as if they had done this before.  How much top secret government information has been going out to FOX News, Breitbart, OAN etc?

The incompetent and unrepentant Mike Walz is trying to blame the journalist for being added to the group, suggesting (without evidence) that the journalist may have changed his name on Signal to appear like he was someone else.

 

Now, I’ve worked in high street retail before and the way data protection is now if a 16 year old minimum wage sales attendant gives out sensitive personal account information of John Smith to a person who simply walks up and says they are John Smith then that employee and that company can really be in quite deep shit - because it’s obviously an incredibly stupid thing to do. But hey, these are highly paid white male professionals. They can possibly be held to the same standard as teenage part timers and DEI looking folks.

The journalist has released the entire message chain. It’s interesting how JD mentions that Europe doesn’t have the capability to stop/intercept the sophisticated weapons that the Houthi are using and only the US does. IF that is true I wonder who supplied them the weapons? Reminds me of the Brit politician who said we know Iraq have WMD because we’ve still got the receipts.

What I like is that Gabbard and others, testified that this info was not classified.  Jeff G held off releasing all of the info just because he felt it might be classified.

It's going to be rather difficult to go after him when Trump himself said no classified info was released.

Most military / intelligence talking heads seem to be saying the contents could easily be unclassified now, after the strikes, but would 100% have been considered clearly and obviously secret before the strikes. 

Contrast with treatment of Clinton for emails that were not secret when she sent or received them but were retrospectively classified later on.

It's just bad luck that the journalist accidently added to the loop wasn't employed by FOX. It he was there would be no scandal and none of us would ever have heard about it. Makes me wonder what other shit is going on.

I now think the funniest bit is when they’re considering a delay to the operation but worry they’ll look like pussies if it leaks and Hegseth says “Don’t worry I’ll enforce 100% OPSEC” well y’know except for this one national magazine editor but I’m sure that doesn’t matter.
