pilotpilot 0 #1 October 17, 2012 Had the opportunity to make a jump from a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress recently and it definitely ranks up there with my top 5 all time memorable jump ships. The others? The Perris DC-9, Casas, Skyvans and several types of helicopters. What are some of yours? Now accepting submissions for witty, profound signature line. dlcobbett 0 #2 October 17, 2012 I've jumped many different types of aircraft, from C-172, C-182, Caravan, Otter, Skyvan, Casa, Beech 18, hot air baloon, and helicopters. All memorable in their own right, but perhaps the most obscure aircraft I've jumped from was an Antonov AN2 several years ago. A large Biplane of soviet/russian design. Took 13 jumpers to an altitude of 10500' in approximately 40 minutes. But jump run was at an airspeed of between 30 - 35 mph. I remember standing in the door staring at the spot forever. We had a headwind at altitude of 25-30 mph. Lots of fun for 10 way speed stars. When making the decision to downsize: It's your life, don't spend it all on one canopy

Remster 30 #4 October 17, 2012 The coolest that stand out are the Connie, bi-plane, and the Huey in Quincy. Oh, and the AN-72 (even more fun than the C-130, tho the jumps from the Herc were cool when we were landing at the International Airport in Borneo ) Remster

zoobrothertom 5 #19 October 19, 2012 Replying to all of the above... I only saw a B-25 listed for two folks. I've had two B-25 jumps out of two different planes. One of them was the Silver Lady and the other was the Blue Dog. Anyone ever launch a 2way out of the bombay of a B-25 besides me?Another cool jump was from a Sikorsky Sky Crane. I got 3 jumps out of the boxcar at 10K jumping into the 82nd club in the early 80s. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
