missbrz 0 #1 September 26, 2012 Hey boys and girls! In case you haven't heard, October 5-7 Skydive City in Zephyrhills is hosting the PD Tvier Pair Swooping Competition. The very first of its kind! An entire TEAM swooping event! If you want the best seats in the house for this competition, come help us judge! We need judges especially for Friday and Saturday. If you can only do one day, that's fine. No prior experience is necessary, even non-jumpers or former jumpers can judge. PM me here or email me at missbrz@gmail.com for more details. missbrz 0 #6 September 26, 2012 Quote Quote PD Tvier Pair Swooping Competition What's "Tvier"? It's some fancy foreign word that apparently means "two" or "pair". They just thought it sounded cool What it means though, is that all of the competitors will compete and score as a two person team. So two people will be swooping for each run. Details on the different events at this comp are listed here ETA: thanks to the mods for the sticky!
CarpeDiem3 0 #7 September 26, 2012 Thank you for that explanation. But then, doesn't that mean that "tvier pair" is redundant, like saying "pair pair"? I'm confused...

I put the pair in b/c most people don't know what "Tvier" means. Technically redundant but I'm ok with that.
Divalent 145 #9 September 26, 2012 So do they swoop at the exact same time (like, synchronized swooping)?
missbrz 0 #10 September 26, 2012 Yup! the Distance and Speed will be side by side. The Kris Kross will be swooping at the same time in opposite directions. The free style will depend on the trick they choose. It's going to be awesome!
MakeItHappen 15 #11 September 26, 2012 Quote The Kris Kross will be swooping at the same time in opposite directions. I hope there are some qualifications on the participants to make sure this goes well and doesn't kill anyone. .. I put the pair in b/c most people don't know what "Tvier" means. Technically redundant but I'm ok with that. Okay, so the official name is "Tvier Swooping", which no one will understand. So the better way of expressing it is something like "Tvier (pair) Swooping". Got it. Sheesh, why don't they just give it a name to start with that makes sense. Something like "Synchronized Swooping". Sounds cool. Sounds dangerous.
