Well just tried calling them again. The answerphone message is now saying UK Skydiving is closed for Restructuring and to contact Morganpringle@ymail.com.

Could the email address be gmail instead of ymail?

Hi All,

Just so you know Andy Lovemore sold his interest in UKskydiving Ltd some years ago and has no interest in or association with any company run by Mr Royce who was the director at the time the company (ukskydiving ltd) ceased trading and has been since November 2011, the UK DZ owners have been aware of issues with this agency for a few months and have taken steps to protect the DZ's however there is no way to contact those people holding vouchers from this company.

The MasonPringle email address has been circulating since the website shutdown purporting to be business recovery specialists, however Mason & Pringle Ltd ceased trading in 2004 and was owned by a friend of Mr Royce whose name appears at the bottom of the email - and since when does a company specialising in financial affairs requiring fully qualified and certified staff in the field not have its own domain - sorry but it would appear that someone may possibly have been unscrupulous and as a result a lot of people will be missing out on a great experience and in addition some funds destined for charitable organisations may also have been swallowed

I received a letter from Mason & Pringle which I have attached for everyones information. I contacted them at the start of July threatening legal action if my money was not returned and this was their response.

I'm not entirely convinced about these people given they do not have a website/provide contact details.

I donated money to a family member through UKSkydiving.co.uk and they have not been able to do a jump. They have tried to contact the police who are apparently not interested.

My guess is that the company have used funds meant for charity to fund day to day expenses and have got themselves into a mess. I woudn't be surprised if Mason & Pringle are in someway related to John Royce (the director).

If people have lost money to this company I would suggest sending a claim to Mason & Pringle stating how much you have paid UKSkydiving.co.uk, when it was paid and what it was for.

This company has mis-used funds meant for charity and need to be held accountable, so we need to make sure everyone chases them for it

I say the letter is bogus. The address they have given is a PO box at the post office, no company exists on the companies house website and as a minimum any limited company or limited liability partnership must have the following info as a legal minimum on their letters (http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/promotional/busStationery.shtml)
that
Quote

A company must state its name, in legible lettering, on the following -

all the company's business letters, order forms;
all its notices and other official publications;
all bills of exchange, promissory notes, endorsements, cheques and orders for money or goods purporting to be signed by, or on behalf of, the company;
all its bills of parcels, invoices, receipts and letters of credit
on all its websites

On all of its business letters, order forms or any of the company’s web sites, the company must show in legible lettering –

its place of registration
registered number
its registered office address
and if it is being wound up, fact,

Whenever an email is used where its paper equivalent would be caught by the stationery requirements then that email is also subject to the requirements. The above also applies to Limited Liability Partnerships.

I'd also check up with the institute of chartered accountants (http://www.icaewfirms.co.uk/) to see if either Harvey Black or 'Mason & Pringle' are bone-fide administrators (althogh the letter states he's a 'pre-administration manager' whatever that means.

Yes, I would agree there is something not right with the letter/company.

I cannot find a trace of Mason & Pringle, or Harvey Black. Given the business they claim to be they should be registered somewhere.

I'm not sure where to go from here though as the Company, even if it does exist, hasn't provided an address of an actual office (just a PO Bos number).

I've raised a complaint with the police, but are they going to interested? how long will they take to look into it?

any ideas would be much appreciated!

Unfortunately the cops aren't going to give a monkey's arse. Your best bet is to go through trading standards however this process is very slow. I did this with this bunch of shysters: http://www.bview.co.uk/listing/1673604/1st-Parts-4-U-in-PR6 and got my money back eventually.

There's a lot of this on moneysavingexpert.co.uk (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?s=0df31fb71eef42889e9b1c470c7ad44d&f=173). You might be able to get better advice there. I feel for ya. I thought I'd lost 600 notes but it all worked out in the end.

Edited to add: It's trading standards that prosecute companies for fraud, etc, not the police. The company that did me got prosecuted eventually and taken out of business.

Hi I'm glad it's not just me I brought a skydive for my partner in January with the same company and have been trying to book it for almost 8months

now but the service is shocking they kept fobbing us off and saying they'd call back then never did. When I rang again to then find out they were closed for restructuring and same on the phone. And tried the Morgan email in many forms but they all bounced back. Now the web domain is up for sale and the telephone says this number cannot take incoming calls. I have been thinking about going to the police or watchdog but thought I'd google first to see if I could find an answer and came accross your forum. I would really appreciate an email on megann13@hotmail.co.uk if you have been able to get in touch with anyone about getting your money back etc. thanks
