skymama 37 #1 March 26, 2012 Skydive Air Adventures in Clewiston, FL is running a Living Social deal. That's not so bad, I guess, I see a lot of dropzones doing these types of deals now. But what I'm surprised at is the $440 value that this package deal is supposed to be. That seems a little high to me! I wonder what the "discounts on other skydive memorabilia" means. Here's the "deal" if you don't have a Living Social account: QuoteYou've sought out all the ground-level thrill-seeking South Florida has to offer, from 'Glades-style gator wrasslin' to trying to hitch a ride on a stingray. Elevate your adrenaline at an alternate altitude with today's deal from Skydive Air Adventures in Clewiston: Spend $199 for a tandem skydive with still-shot DVD package, official t-shirt, and a "Swag Bag" with discounts on other skydive memorabilia (a $440 value). Get your blood pumping and your senses soaring by leaping from a speeding airplane at 14,000 feet up. Take off from Airglades Airport and experience an exhilarating 60-second free-fall, before parachuting gracefully for several minutes to the grassy landing zone. Head and shoulders above zero-elevation entertainment, today's deal offers the ultimate airborne rush. Want more? Check out Skydive Air Adventures on Facebook. Certainly seems a little high to me, but it is just playing the game. They are getting some portion of the $199. Are the stills hand-cam? If not then I think they will still be hard pressed to break even on the deal."What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
Remster 30 #3 March 26, 2012 I don't know about the "extras" including the video being worth $240 ($200 is about right for the jump itself around here). Maybe they are, maybe they're not... But, they basically would get those extras for free.Remster

Southern_Man 0 #7 March 26, 2012 QuoteI wonder what the "discounts on other skydive memorabilia" means. To expand my previous answer. I suspect it means that Living Social told the drop zone they had to discount the package by X% (55% seems to be what it ended up being) so the drop zone figured out how to make the numbers work by throwing in some extras and padding the total, then discounting off the padded total."What if there were no hypothetical questions?" CygnusX-1 43 #11 March 26, 2012 Mama, have you been living under a rock again? This is no different than the info-commercials where you can buy $440 worth of steak knives for the low, low price of $29.99! But wait, there's more. Order in the next 15 minutes and you receive an official t-shirt and Swag Bag for free.

In addition, you will receive a swag-bag of skydiving goodies worth $440.00. I would venture to say they might be things like X dollars off your next tandem if you buy today, Y dollars off if you bring Z number of people in the next 30 days... you get the idea.
