waveoff5500 0 #27 September 1, 2011 i tried the app out this week when we jumped the otter at canton air sports, idk if something was messed up with my gps signal but it said my max speed was 63 mph, we were freeflying, thats some slow freeflying ;) it was very user friendly though and i think the free fall time was accurate."its just a normal day at the dropzone until its not" 1653
motoxbudd 0 #28 September 1, 2011 this is really neat. im a sw geek too. if someone will post the raw gps log file, ill make a little script that auto crops the data to just your jump, as well as color code the 3d path according to speed. ill then post the script here and send to the op so he can mod the app if he wants. -moto
chuckakers 425 #29 September 1, 2011 QuoteDoesn't the iPhone (among most other phones) use aGPS that relies heavily on the cell tower reception to give it a better fix as to where it is? Without the assist, it is possible that your results are way off, so sure, it might be a novelty to see you roughly flew this far, this fast... it's not that accurate. My droid can use cell towers, but also has sat for accuracy, and it is damned accurate, too.Chuck Akers D-10855 Houston, TX
