Julaynemaries 0 #1 September 23, 2011 Hi, Did really great in AFF, I only had to repeat level 6 one time. Ive had some great solo jumps since. But due to some tough financial times and weather holds, its been about 2 months since my last jump. Im kind of feeling like I have never jumped before, lol. (not really but im freaked) Some people have told me its like riding a bike....but I tend to not think so. I remember all Ive learned......just still so new so I still get so scared, that is UNTIL I EXIT! Then its ALL SMILES.....during my final I tend to get a bit scared again, but so far so good. Im going out for a jump tomorrow. I think I just need a bit of a boost. No one in my immediate life understand the sport so I havent been able to get any support to syke myself back up.....(I think Im being silly and Im going to have a BLAST tomorrow) Thanks for letting me get this off my chest...... :)
Julaynemaries 0 #2 September 23, 2011 ya know what........just being on this sight and reading other forums and posts, Im already getting amped! I think some flips and barrel rolls are in my immediate future. BOOM :) (and dont worry I will talk to my coaches and get some breifing since it has been 2 months)
jhh166 0 #3 September 23, 2011 Yea, I kinda felt like that after a three week gap due to work and weather. What seems to work for me is to visualize the last few jumps I had and try to remember all the details from beginning to end. I mean from the moment you pull you rig of the rack to the debriefing and what the instructor (or coach in your case) had to say. To be honest this brought some bad practices to my attention that went under the radar and I never realized I was doing it until I was visualizing the dive hours or days later. Anyway, this is what helps me feel prepared.
sunkenstate 0 #4 September 23, 2011 I went about 2 months between jump no. 16 and 17 and got a coach to do a refresher jump with me. Basically, we just went through EPs together on the ground, then made it a coached jump as well (swoop and docks). I felt more confident, it was definitely safer, and took care of some A-license requirements. I would consider something similar if I were you. blue skies :) [edited for stupidity]
jephprospect 0 #5 September 24, 2011 Just jump. What's the worst that can happen? Quote
virgin-burner 1 #6 September 24, 2011 dont worry, it only takes about 350 jumps to get rid of that feeling! and then some.. “Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S.
