OhioDreamsChris 0 #1 August 21, 2011 So I am through cat d moving onto cat e...the flexible glasses at the dz seem to mess up my depth perception just enough to really annoy me on landing/flare....anyone else dealt with this issue..I am going to get some of my own eye wear....any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Chris

OhioDreamsChris 0 #3 August 21, 2011 I have thought about that...didn't know what the speed would feel like without goggles on....like eyes watering and what not...need to figure out a good quick and safe way to get them off....student helmets makes getting them off kinda hard...because the strap is under the helmet...good suggestion....I think I will try that
sundevil777 102 #4 August 21, 2011 Many people pull up visors on full face helmets without tearing being a problem, especially for large, slow parachutes. I used to pull my goggles down below my chin when I used an open face helmet. You have to just work a bit to get the strap below your ears.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

If you are OK riding a bicycle without goggles on, you can fly a parachute without goggles on. Do EVERYTHING that you're required to do to make sure that your canopy is good and your airspace is clear and you know where you are. If you have time remaining, slide your goggles down. That said, go buy your own goggles so that you aren't losing ours all the time when you fumble them trying to take them off Owned by Remi #?
darkwing 5 #6 August 21, 2011 Easy to try on the ground before you jump. Either pull them up on your helmet, or below your chin. One will probably be suitable. Don't make it a priority after you open. Make sure everything else is fine first. Talk to your instructor about it before you do anything. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
theonlyski 8 #7 August 22, 2011 I was in the same boat as you, and I HATED having some lens infront of my eyes for landing. Good news is, it got better for me... took a while, but there is hope that you're not having to do the goggle remove every time forever. I also pulled my goggles down to my chin or opened up my fullface visor. Wind wasn't an issue. Talk to your instructors, buy goggles that work for you, and give it a whirl."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
Halfpastniner 0 #8 August 22, 2011 If you can land a backflip on a bike, you can land a parachute with goggles on. I promise. Few more jumps and you will have it dialed in!BASE 1384
