For my curiosity, were you prepared and able to PLF? Judging your flare height and speed can be taught and thought about, but it really does boil down to experience to build the correct sight picture. There are some things you can do to help yourself out, such as looking out and slightly forward, instead of straight down or straight out; however, being ready and willing to PLF will help prevent injury in the future.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
