At least the scammers had to pay for the overnight.Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. moggybean 0 #3 May 8, 2011 A lot of times it is a Credit Card scam. They book an expensive all inclusive trip on a cloned or stolen credit card. You put it through your CC machine with no problems, they then cancel and ask for a refund - not to the credit card, but to some other source (western union kind of thing). The card payment then gets queried after you have made the refund and you are out a ton of money. Happened to a friend of mine recently who owns a resort. It seemed legit but he refused to repay to any other source than the original credit card. They became agitated on their E-Mails which sent up red flags to him. He later found out that the card had been cloned. Thankfully he hadn't sent the money to them the way they wanted so he is only out the credit card fees, but it could have been a lot worse. At least the scammers had to pay for the overnight. I've done that a lot. But then someone said that the account used to FedEx the check was probably stolen too, so that someone is still being hurt wrongfully even for that. I scam the scammers too, even sending them back fake Western Union money order receipts, so that they'll get embarrassed trying to pick up money that isn't there. It's fun to see them fall for the same gullibility which they use to take advantage of others.
likestojump 3 #5 May 12, 2011 I used to have fun with them trying to see how ridiculous of a name I could have them make the fake check out to. I used to have a pretty good collection.
