KenGoff 0 #1 August 21, 2005 Did my third PRCP. Form was good, but my instructor says I reach and pull too fast. The first one was too slow, but the last two, I had that thing out before I hit line stretch. Any advice? THANKS!!
AggieDave 6 #2 August 21, 2005 Anything you read here may contradict your instructor, you would be best served by simply working on your PRCPs on the ground with your instructor. That way you can get the form and timing down correctly.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
DeNReN 0 #3 August 21, 2005 Welcome to skydiving and the forums....Always consult your instructors with any questions or advice you get..they know you...we dont. The only advice I can offer is to relax...yes...its hard to do so....but that is the best advice I have ever gotten and all I can really offer... On another note....provide a few more details so the more experianced can hopefully help you a little more...IE: What training method are you using?....what area of the world are you doing it in??.....what type of gear is being used??...etc etc.. sundevil777 102 #4 August 21, 2005 Your instructor may just want you to slow down a little to be sure that you know what you are grabbing. If you do it so fast, an instructor is left wondering if you are just 'swiping' at it, something that doesn't give them a good feeling. Talk to them with this in mind and you'll be able to understand what they want and why.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am
EvilLurker 2 #5 August 21, 2005 Quotebut my instructor says I reach and pull too fast. Is he asking you do an X second delay? When I was doing IADs, that's what the JM was telling me (i.e. count to 5 and show me a PRCP). He just wants to make sure you can count a delay before he moves you to free-fall, it sounds like. You need to talk to your JM and ask him why it was too fast and what he's looking for. We can't help you (unless your JM is reading this right now) Heh..heh

Good questions. I'm jumping S/L. I'm supposed to let go of the strut, (C-182) arch, look, reach, pull, arch. My instructor says to not to try and beat the canopy. He said he wants to see more deliberate, not-so-fast actions. He wants quality rather than speed. I was told later by another jumper that "slow is fast."
