lawleypop 0 #1 March 27, 2011 Hey everyone, I'm looking to complete the PFF program in order to obtain my solo certification... The only problem is is that I'm a broke university student and the only way I can make time for this (since I need to work fulltime during the summer) is if I complete it in the beginning of April before my exams start. I'm currently in Hamilton, ON and I'm willing to drive up to Quebec and stay with some family to do it. Also willing to do it in Ontario as long as the drive to and fro the dropzone is reasonable. Furthermore, I basically have a budget of less than $2000 (like I said, broke student :P) and I would prefer to complete the program in English... I can understand French better than I can speak it, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable learning to skydive in French. :P And if it matters, I've only completed a tandem jump at Nouvel Air in Quebec. Short version: Where can I complete the PFF program in Ontario or Quebec, in English, for less than 2000 dollars in April?
Andrewwhyte 1 #2 March 27, 2011 Good luck finding a DZ that is open. You might email Tim at Niagara Skydive Centre as he has a paved runway. If you cannot complete PFF for under 2000 you are doing it wrong.

pchapman 279 #4 March 28, 2011 Just partial info: Niagara Skydive has the hard runway, which can help in early april. They've done PFF quite a while. Parachute School of Toronto does tandem progression, a few tandems then 1:1 PFF. Skydive Toronto does PFF and is open but it's a grass strip. Shuttling from another airport is a pain so the few of us teaching PFF there might wait a few more weeks before doing any. SWOOP near Hamilton has a well established PFF program but I think they wait until May to start taking students, leaving April to get things running for the regulars first. Grand Bend Sport Parachute Centre -- small, PFF specialists, hard runway. Not sure when the open though. Worth a call.
hcsvader 1 #5 March 28, 2011 From what I have seen on facebook both PST and Niagra have been operating already this season. Call around and see who is open and running AFF. You can use the dropzpne locater on the menu bar to find local dropzones.Have you seen my pants? it"s a rough life, Livin' the dream >:)
