NWFlyer 2 #3 March 16, 2011 Costco often has them. They're cheap ($40ish) so they don't usually make it more than a season or two (zippers tend to break) but they'll hold a lot."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. Coreefdiver 0 #4 March 16, 2011 I have something similar for my SCUBA gear, made by Samsonite... it does the job. There are also some decent soft travel gear with wheels that you can get at SCUBA shops (and retailers on-line), but you WILL pay for 'em.DS#727, DB Cooper #41, POPS #11065, SCR #13183, FA #2125, SCS #8306, HALO #309 SRA #5930

medic001918 0 #6 March 16, 2011 I have one of these that I use and it works awesome. I'd recommend one to anybody. It holds everything I could dream of fitting in there pretty much and keeps things separated. http://ogio.com/rig-9800 Shane

hokierower 0 #8 March 16, 2011 I've seen quite a few people at my DZ with Pelican 1500 or 1600 series cases. Definitely nice but definitely expensive. 99% sure those are wheeled too.

AggieDave 6 #10 March 17, 2011 I've had a couple of cheap bags and finally just broke down and bought this: http://www.lapolicegear.com/5tamirodubag.html I'm very happy with it. I can even make it fit on my motorcycle. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
DrewEckhardt 0 #11 March 17, 2011 QuoteAnyone using a rolling duffle bag for your gear? If so, where did you get it at? Thanks. If your rig is small enough you can use an airline roll-aboard carry-on to hold it, helmet, jump suit, altimeter, etc. I got one from Victornox which also has back-pack straps. dninness 4 #13 March 17, 2011 Bunch of the Brazilian guys at my DZ have similar. I've heard them referred to as the "dead Thai hooker bag". That one from LA Police Gear is one I've looked at. Good to see it gets some play here.NIN D-19617, AFF-I '

kawisixer01 0 #15 March 17, 2011 http://www.walmart.com/ip/JEEP-25-Upright-Luggage-Piece/8586172 I've used this cheepo $40 thing from wal mart for like three years now. I fit my rig, two jump suits, and all the other crap in it fine. I just hang my helmet bag off the handle. No signs of wear and it's held up great. AggieDave 6 #16 March 17, 2011 Quote Brazilian guys at my DZ That's a lot of guys at your DZ, going to need like eleventy bags for all of them!On a serious note, LA Police Gear has some of the better prices for 5.11 stuff. There is also a Maxpedition bag that is similar that is very well made.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." hokierower 0 #17 March 17, 2011 Do any of you guys travel to and from the DZ on a motorcycle? I'm riding my Triumph these days and wearing a backpack with all my clothes and stuff (student, no rig/gear yet) but when I end up buying gear I need to figure out how to transport it on the bike. Any ideas?

I haven't had any of the issues that the review on this page speaks to, but highly recommend checking it out in person at a dive shop in case the quality has dropped since I bought mine - mine was an official, but looks like knockoffs suck. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=akona+roller+bags&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=7285266088694095796&sa=X&ei=AxWCTZWNCdHUgAeTodHVCA&ved=0CD0Q8gIwAg# ... I'm riding a Street Triple R so the stock cans really make things difficult and prevent the use of saddlebags. Any ideas? Funny you should mention that. I ride to the DZ on a motorcycle frequently. I rode to nationals last year on my bike as well, loaded down with a week's worth of jumping and living gear. I use the same bag that I linked to earlier and bungie it to my sissy bar. Works like a champ. Nevermind the messy garage, but this is my bike loaded up right before I left for CP Nats last year. jrmrangers 0 #22 March 19, 2011 I like the idea of the hockey bag. You can get them in all shapes and sizes and probably for next to nothing. Any ideas? I use one of THESE when I take my motorcycle to the DZ. Yes, it's "Temporarily Out of Stock", but there's a bunch of similar ones out there. It holds my rig (which isn't a tiny one), jumpsuit, helmet, logbook, atimiter, goggles, shoes, ect. I run the straps all the way out and most of the weight rests on the passenger seat. Everything is enclosed and protected, and the shoulder straps keep it under control and let me know if it is shifting around any. It is fairly heavy, but I don't have any problems with it, other than putting it on."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." headoverheels 333 #24 March 21, 2011 I have the 3-size set from eBags.com, which have a lifetime warranty. I don't use them for jump gear, just traveling. The small one wouldn't much more than a fairly small rig and jumpsuit, and the middle size one may be larger than you want for a day at the dz -- haven't tried it. All colors have burnt orange liners, so that clashes with red outsides, but makes it easier to find stuff than a black liner. They stand up on the end, have good dividers and pockets, etc. We liked my set well enough that my wife bought a set. http://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/mother-lode-etech-mini-21-wheeled-duffel/68256?productid=837488
JohnMitchell 16 #25 March 22, 2011 We carry on our rigs and essentials, but check the extra clothes and crap in a big wheelie suitcase. Since they charge for checked bags now, and the weight limit is almost 50#, V and I just check the one big bag.
