DiverMike 5 #26 February 18, 2011 QuoteI started to loathe the time I was spending underwater, the money was fabulous and I enjoyed the teaching, it was just that diving sucked! +1 The best way to ruin a fun hobby is to make it a profession. Been there, done that, moved on. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
danielcroft 2 #27 February 19, 2011 Winters in the NE are pretty frustrating, especially after the weather we had last year. I got 82 jumps in last year and it drove me nuts. My wife and I are both ready to be done with the NE, mostly because of the weather. My wife is getting more into hiking that I'm not really that into but I do it for her. We've yet to have a really serious conflict when I want to jump and she wants to hike. SLC is calling our name though.

GreggB 0 #32 February 20, 2011 Throw in the towel and fun jump. You might have to switch DZs. Not permanently but if someplace is work then it is a workplace. Besides if you are still on the books you will get asked to do just 'one' when it is busy.
airtwardo 7 #33 February 20, 2011 Quote Quote What I hope to find is a chance to progress from what I am now (which is not much) to camera man and rigger while living (and making a living) on the dz. I just want to keep the best thing that happen in my life in my life. Ask around, it is a struggle and get really old in a short time. You will not have the time to live the fun part. Tink1717 2 #34 February 21, 2011 Yeah, I've seen that. "Just one" is ten by the end of the day. I know I'll have to go away if I do that. It's not that I don't have a place to go, I just don't get that excited over a Cessna. Decisions, decisions.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway...
