popsjumper 2 #26 February 9, 2011 Picture this: Two youngsters, unbeknownst to us on the ground, planned a sunset Mr. Bill. Plan was to open high, out the door, and share the 4 beers they took with them. Beers loaded in cargo pants pockets. Exit, long delay, opening....POW! Hanger guy, of course, couldn't hang on and with arms locked around the guy slid down his body, ripping the cargo pants pockets open and taking the guys shoes with him. One beer hit the top of the hangar (15 people standing in front of it) one hit the parking lot between two cars (one was the DZO's) two beers and shoes gone somewhere...nobody knows. Youngsters got the dreaded "double leg slap" upon return to the hangar. I'm sure they learned something there. I won't mention the luck of not having the reserve handle pulled on the slide down the body.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. DanG 1 #29 February 9, 2011 Why any straight jumper would want to do a Mr. Bill with another of the same sex is beyond me. A Mr. Bill with a cute co-ed? At least that makes some sense. I did one in my youth. Yes, it was with a girl. We used my Fury 220 that took forever to open from terminal, had my buddy hand deploy us out of the Cessna with a healthy cut. Hanging on was not a problem. It was fun, but not so much fun that I wanted to do it again. - Dan G

Ron 10 #31 February 9, 2011 Ah, all those that say it is stupid.... well so are high performance landings, freeflying, hell skydiving itself. I will not go into a "web based" lecture on how to do this.... that is not a good idea. But if you want to do one, they can be fun as hell. I have 10 or so of them, all playing Mr. Bill. Talk to the most experienced jumpers at your DZ, the S&TA etc. And see what they have to say. Is it more dangerous than a regular jump? YES. But so is a two way being more dangerous than a solo."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,

pinkfairy 0 #42 February 12, 2011 If it's not on video it didn't happen! Seriously, everyone I know who have tried it say "WTF was I thinking?". Scary stories about PCs going between legs, injury to jumpers and gear. Not really a great idea. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.
