Full-face Contour Camera Mount--- TAKE 2

Recommended Posts

I used that stuff to hold a TRV-8 on a Flat Top Pro with a strap over the top. Lasted for years even though I had to remove the camera to change tapes. I wouldn't use it as the only thing holding the camera on. I did have a riser slap or two the knocked the camera loose.

For some reason I'm picturing you flying around in the pattern and playing with your visor trying to get the perfect shot of your canopy, and that scares me.

But I'm sure you'd never do anything like that, and even if you did the risks of flying into somebody are manageable.
I got nuthin

He's not, he is going to unsnap the strap in case of snag, and then cutaway his mal like he did with the go pro. :S

Oh and RS, if your going to go ahead with this, use the nylon screws and "strap" the camera to the mount, ziptie, rubber band, pull up cord, safety wire, etc. that way the camera wont become airborne when unwanted and hit someone in the air or on the ground. And if it's snagged the mount will rip off while your undoing your snap shackle.

Just curios , a riser slap on the top of your head?

Im thinking about also putting some duct tape on the side of the mount to the helmet.

You realize that on a perfect jump, you could get away with jumping just about anything attached to your head. What we're talking about here is the 'worst case scenario', when things are anything but perfect. In those cases, you need to see if your choice of equipment is going to further aggrevate the situation.

In a perfect world, you would only jump gear that would assist you in the 'worst case scenario', and actually improve your situation. Seeing as that's a pipe-dream, you look for gear that will at least 'do no harm'.

When things get weird, you need every advantage you can get just to make sure you get through it, not poorly chosen gear complicating things and making your life hard(er).

this is the best mount that i have seen for a contour

http://www.xvusa.com/products.html

It is a pretty good mount but it's heavy. I've used it with my contour for climbing and skiing. It also has an additional plate that you can buy to screw-mount it to a standard tripod size screw (1/4"-20). It's bomber and the lens protector is pretty good aside from the fogging in the middle you get.

I'll believe it when I see it on YouTube!
