firemedic 7 #1 December 10, 2010 I bought 2 new cobalts in 2008. They had opening problems so after much wrangling with Atair I sent them back to get em "Fixed" I made repeated calls to check their status and all I got was bupkis. They dissappeared into a black hole there and then Atair USA went under. I posted a thread about the problems I had with Atair and I listed the canopies as Lost in the stolen gear data base. A couple former employees of Atair, Greg Markwardt and Bryan Moffett happened to see my thread and contacted me. They located my canopies and shipped them back to me at their own expense. I just wanted to post this here to recognize their honesty. Thanks Guys. Whenever I get to Texas it's steak dinners and all the beer you drink.
CSpenceFLY 1 #2 December 10, 2010 So are they fixed? Too bad you couldn't trade them for a couple of Alphas. That was the Cobalt before they fucked them up.

firemedic 7 #6 December 10, 2010 Quote Two years , and you are happy with that service? I'm not happy with the service I got in the least. But I'm very pleased with the guys who found my canopies. I sent one of them to MEL who put a correctly trimmed lineset on it. He said if it still opens too hard I can either put a dome slider or the H Mod on it. I'll bring up this in the Gear and Rigging thread if the openings still suck.
Scrumpot 1 #7 December 10, 2010 I will highly endorse and recommend MEL's work in doing an H-Mod. Wouldn't even bother wasting the step of installing a dome-slider, as you'll still end up trashing that, and THEN going to the H-Mod, which you will LOVE. I've got a Heatwave that now opens nearly identically to my Crossfire, - SMOOTH, SOFT AND ON HEADING every time! ...that MEL pulled from the ashes for me (almost literally - Was getting ready to burn it!) with his work done on it, with this mod in particular. Skip the dome slider (been there, done that, too) - go with the H-Mod. You won't regret it. Just FWIW. If MEL has it have him do the mod before sending it back to you. Well worth the $$ and make the canopy fly great. He did one on a Viper I had.
