If there aren't any drop zones in Egypt, you probably won't be able to stay current; it might be better to start AFF when you can keep jumping.

How much time can you dedicate know as opposed to the 6 months?

Dedicated the right amount of time to progress is the key in any form of Training.

If you can dedicate every weekend till you go south, why not start now? If you only have one or two weekends and they will be spread apart and then another long lay off till your in San Paulo, it may be best to wait.

USPA reccomendations for currency are that jumpers get recurrency training and do a supervised jump if their last jump was more than:

A lic. 60 days
B lic. 90 days
C / D lic. 180 days

IMHO, Jump when and where and as much as you can. If I waited to be able to stay current i would never start. No DZ's in Iraq either so i get to jump once every 4-5 moths.

São Paulo has various dz and Boituva with several clubs is the biggest one, and they have jump masters with uspa rating.
