gus 1 #26 December 9, 2002 I love climbing around on our Grand Caravan, we had a Skyvan for a week over the summer which was great but my favourite's definately the Porter - nice big door and step, slow run-in speed and real characterGus OutpatientsOnline.com

Vallerina 2 #29 December 9, 2002 Skyvan....fast climb to altitude, easier to do big-ways, more fun to dive from, I never have to open the door Plus every girl loves the Skyvan. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
nacmacfeegle 0 #30 December 9, 2002 "Mike's King Air... Nothing compares.. " The Mullins King Air was the first 'real' plane I ever jumped out of.....Yeppers, it climbs like a banshee, probably even faster now than my first meeting with it (93/94), but the door is just too damn small for anything useful... kizzie92 0 #31 December 9, 2002 Yeah Babby! The old C182 workhorse Lots of stuff to hang off. Lots of fun! TonyThe big difference between sex for money and sex for free is that sex for money usually costs a lot less.
Sonic 0 #32 December 9, 2002 I think the Let410 is nice, but I also like the 182 at our dz - things to hang off and you've got more options for funky exits ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone

happythoughts 0 #34 December 9, 2002 Quote I jumped the venerable old DC-3, 'Mr. Douglas', once, at a nationals boogie in Oklahoma in 1980 or so... Mr. Douglas had a pimpin' stereo, and they played 'Free Bird' on the climb to altitude... it was pretty cool! For a while, they had an Eagles tape stuck in the cassette player and couldn't get it out. I heard that tape until I got sick of it.
kallend 2,027 #35 December 9, 2002 The Pitts 2C was really cool. Only good for solos, though.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

howardwhite 6 #37 December 9, 2002 DeHavilland Tiger Moth, with the same reservations. Stand on the front seat holding onto the upper wing at 2,500. Pilot goes into loop. At the top of the loop, 3,500, pilot pops stick and you extract like a champagne cork. The rest of the time, Otters. HW

rushmc 23 #41 December 9, 2002 I like the Porter. Big door, ( one or two) great for a small DZ because it keeps the tandems going so the DZO can afford it, and lots of room for the rest of us. I hear someone is putting a -34 turbine in one! craichead 0 #43 December 10, 2002 Not that I've jumped out of that many different planes being a beginner, but I really dig the Super Porter at my DZ. It's a fairly comfortable (when there are only 6 or 7 jumpers on board) and quick ride to altitude, and the wing strut is a comforting thing to hang on to for a student like me! Plus the polka paint job is disgustingly cute...see it here. Next faves are Super Otter and CASA, the only other planes I've jumped from. My instructors tell me I'm really spoiled -- I believe them! -P__ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
skydiverbob 0 #44 December 10, 2002 I've always been really partial to ramp jumps out of C-130's. Nothing like stepping out into the black of night at 20,000 feet from the ramp.Who Dares Wins

dreamsville 0 #48 December 10, 2002 For big ways, the Casa or Skyvan. Else, the copter, otter, or 182 are all I've jumped.
