crotalus01 0 #1 July 27, 2005 just talked to PD after measuring my slider on my Sabre1 190... my current slider is 18"x27". PD recommends a slider of 23"x31" for my canopy. maybe thats why i got knocked senseless on my last opening... of course my new slider wont be ready by this weekend As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD... darkvapor 0 #2 July 27, 2005 The 18x27 is 486 sq in. The 23x31 is 713. Drag is directly related to the area. The bigger slider is almost 50 percent larger. "A few inches" has a big effect.

To my knowledge, PD up'ed the size of the sliders on the original Sabre a few years after they were out. It may well be the original slider, but the specs have changed since.Remster
crotalus01 0 #10 July 29, 2005 its the original slider with a completely useless pocket sewn onto it to add 4 more inches. so the hell with that thing, i have a new one on order from PD. i sure hope it slows this thing down cause i dont have a spare 2K or so to spend on a new canopy... veter_ 0 #12 July 29, 2005 "how big a difference is a few inches?" I think I've seen this question somewhere... Playboy letters?
feuergnom 28 #13 July 29, 2005 that depends on where these inches have to fit in... whoa, wrong thread in wrong forum i guess everyone knows what the answers would be if this one got moved to bonfire as for your original question: i have no ideaThe universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle dudeist skydiver #
riggerrob 643 #14 August 2, 2005 Be careful to use the same measuring method as the manufacturer. For example, Performance Designs likes to measure sliders across the middle. There is so much thread shrinkage along the edges that it makes tape measures meaningless.
