Skydive DeLand/Length of AFF

Recommended Posts

So I will be getting my license at skydive deland starting in about a week/2 weeks and had a few questions. Has anyone been there and have any stories about the dz? And I will only be in town for about 3 weeks before I move to cali. Should I try to geet it all done during that time or wait till California and get it out there? The money isn't an issue and I will have nothing but free time while I am in orlando

My standard reccomendation to any jumper is that if you have the time, the money, and the weather, go to the DZ and jump. There's no sense in waiting until a later time, when you might find yourself without the time, money, or weather.

Deland is a class operation, and you'll be learning from some of the top guys in the business.

I did my AFF training at Deland and have nothing but positive things to say about the instructors and the whole experience. You should be able to get a feel for the place and the people by visiting the DZ. Hope to see you there. B|

yeah dude i also did my training in deland, and LOVE it there, youd be making a big mistake to pass up the opportunity to jump with the awsome instructors there. Bob is one of the coolest pilots out there as well ;)

plus how could you pass up the chance to meet skymama at her home DZ! (who ive still never met, despite hanging out there alot, i think she hates me :(:D)

and if money is no option, supplement your jumps with some tunnel time as well.

Did my AFF there too :) Awesome place! Nikki still teaching?

yea nikki wamy instructor. Carl is hilarious. And frazier is as well. Pretty much everyone at deland is top notch. If i were you id do like 10 mins in the tunnel. Since you have the money to spare it wont hurt. :).

W not go friday?? Haha. How much time dis you book for the tunnel? Make sure you stretch well because any length of time will wear on you. Ohh and if you get te chance try to get adam( i think thats his name) from skyventure to be your coach. That dude is an AMAZING teacher.

there may be a few things done differently, for instance in deland you follow the first person downs landing pattern, some places may have a set pattern no matter what the winds are, such as its ALWAYS a left hand pattern. . . stuff like that, is what you need to make sure you know.
