ccowden 0 #1 July 25, 2003 I have been dealing with Performance Designs in purchasing my new Velocity and have been absolutely blown away by their customer service! They are some of the best people to work with and have been so willing to help me! I am one HAPPY customer!! No, I don't work for them, I am just your everyday customer who was looking for a new cross-braced canopy. And that is what makes them so awesome! I am not bashing any other canopy manufactuers, I have no grounds to do so, I am just telling my experience with PD. I love it when I hear someone use the term "PD snob". Cause if being loyal to a company that treats their customers like gold makes me a snob, then damn straight, I am proud to be a PD snob! :) Rusty Vest of PD said something to me yesterday that you don't hear much from companies anymore. He said- "We look at every customer as an individual, take each situation seperately, and do our best to accomodate them." That is what seperates PD from the rest, in my opinion. And of course the fact that they make the best canopies in the world! :) If you are in the market for a new canopy, I highly recommend giving PD a call! I am sure you will not be disappointed with either the service you get or the products they make!
gus 1 #2 July 25, 2003 I just bought a Sabre2. PD took the time to give me really thorough answers to the handful of questions I had and seemed genuinely concerned that I was happy with my purchase. Great service. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
andy2 0 #3 July 25, 2003 I like it how they routinely answer questions about USED canopies I am researching to buy. Its great to have a manufacturer back up canopies on the used market. To be fair Icarus has been pretty good about getting back to me too. --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... Blahr 0 #4 July 25, 2003 You can add me to the list of snobs. As a first jump student back in the day (ha ha) I used a 7 cell delta cloud, but after that its been PD canopies all the way. I'm waiting on my new Sabre2 now, if it'll just SHOW UP! Well, I only ordered it on Monday so I guess I should give them a little time...
rehmwa 2 #5 July 25, 2003 PD snob here too. Not only the canopies, but the service just like you said. Although, the Samurai was looking pretty tempting when I finally went with the Stiletto. Javelin for the same reason. Edit: I did have a question to Vector about my CrW container 2 years ago and Bill wrote back (e-mail) personally on the question by the next day. That was very cool and they are also on my good supplier list. ... councilman24 37 #7 July 25, 2003 I'm a Rusty Vest snob. Rusty is a good guy. He cares about doing the right thing for the customer. There are others at PD and most of the other manufacturers have good individual people. What I don't appreciate is people who have BLIND loyalty to any particular brand because someone as said every thing else is junk. Or worse, they believe the advertising. TerryI'm old for my age. CanuckInUSA 0 #9 July 25, 2003 I'm currently jumping a PD main and reserve. But my choice of mains will be changing in the fall and it won't be a PD. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
jumperconway 0 #10 July 25, 2003 I am not a PD snob, I'm jumping Xaos mains now although I've owned 3 PD mains. I own 2 PD reserves. I too have had nothing but excellent service from PD. I've also had extremely good service from all at Precision and Icarus and Brian Germain also. There are a lot of good people out there. A lot of people at my dz won't jump it if it's not a PD and I have no problem with that. Also really great people at Sun Path.
bwilling 0 #11 July 25, 2003 Quote I like it how they routinely answer questions about USED canopies I am researching to buy I'd like to add that I've had this same experience with both PD, and Aerodyne. I jump a PD main, and have had a PD reserve in the past, but I guess I'm not a total PD snob, because I have an Aerodyne Smart reserve in my container now... I thought the service level from both those companies rocked when I had questions regarding their canopies, even used ones! Iflyme 0 #13 July 25, 2003 PD was great when I had questions about my previously owned canopy!
cloud9 0 #14 July 25, 2003 I've never considered people that jump PD products and like them to be the PD snobs. The snobs are the ones that say things to people that jump other products like. "Why don't you buy a real canopy." or The only elliptical worth having is a stiletto. Or everyone is copying PD. Those are the snobs. PD makes a great product so do several other manufacturers. skr 1 #15 July 26, 2003 I think "PD fan" would be a more accurate phrase. I've seen them go way out of their way to fix problems. Someone around here once had a canopy with about 400 jumps that began to develop a turn or something, I don't quite remember, but they sent it back for inspection, thinking maybe it needed new lines. I don't know what the problem was, but after a couple weeks PD sent them a brand new canopy. Pretty refreshing. Skr

johnny1488 1 #17 July 27, 2003 <----- Icarus nut (so i've been told) I also just got back from zhills to go over some stuff with aggie. He met me in the factory on a saturday afternoon! Spent over an hour going over the rigs, what they're working on and some sizing issues Kim was having with her rig. I couldnt ask anymore from a manufacturer. ccowden 0 #18 July 28, 2003 like I said- I certainly am not bashing any other manufacturer, or saying there is no other great canopies out there, I just have had such a wonderful experience with PD and thought I would share. I love their products and especially my new love - the Velocity! Just gotta get my swwop on!

Tonto 1 #21 July 29, 2003 I'm a PD snob! Took them less than 1 hour to get me the line specs for my Stilleto 107 - and I'm in Africa. How cool is that? tIt's the year of the Pig.

nightjumps 1 #25 July 29, 2003 <------Icarus I think in the grand scheme of things, all of them have great customer service. When it comes to purchasing, I think its a matter of personal preference. I also think a lot of it has to do with what's "predominate" at that particular DZ when one gets off student status as to the direction they go (that goes for rigs, canopies and reserves). K.
