npgraphicdesign 3 #1 June 17, 2010 I live in New England, and looking to go to a warmer DZ this winter for a week or two. What DZs in the country are still warm around early January and have lodging on site?
kalaniwavo 0 #2 June 17, 2010 Skydive Hawaii! You need a C licence and it gets windy and there's a big ocean across the street from the DZ with heavy surf if you decide to put it in the water you should know how to swim. There are accomodations/hostels in the area (haleiwa)from cheap to super luxurious beachfront.

I hear the biggest DZ in the world is located in this place called Arizona, which just so happens to have weather in the winter thats warmer than most other places."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

But the OP shouldn't be surprised if "warmer than most other places" is not actually warm in January, especially in the mornings."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. skymama 37 #8 June 17, 2010 Zhills probably has the best onsite lodging in FL, but at that time of year you should probably plan ahead so you can reserve one of the campers. Deland has a bunkhouse that's more like a shed. There are skydivers who own bunkhouses but they are a few miles away, not on the dz. Eloy is definitely a nice dz, but I found it to be quite chilly in the mornings. Coming from New England, your perspective is probably a little different than mine! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Being Russian and living in CT, 50 and above is tshirt and shorts weather. But, no matter what pilotdave says, I will NOT jump in the winter.

I'd rather save money by sleeping onsite in a tent OR rooming with a fellow skydiver somewhere for a moderate fee of food and beer PS. Not that I care, but while I was looking at the website, I saw that under the "Experienced jumpers" menu, the word 'orgenizing' is misspelled. Should be 'organizing'
