The plexiglass door on the Cessna 182 single engine prop-plane dubbed "Super Otter" slid open letting the brittle winter air at 15,000 feet of elevation whip through the cabin, relieving heads of hats and snapping everyone wide awake. Larry Joe Lindquist, first time skydiver, sat in quiet shock looking out the window over the expansive Monterey Bay realizing this flight was truly “one way." Hmm, guessing Cessna Caravan or maybe a Pac 750? As they fell the wind hit them like a brick, pushing against their mouths and noses making it hard to breathe. The pressure vibrated through them, pushes them left and right, leaving folds in their skin to flutter across their face. It might have felt like that to the guy on the front. For the guy on the back, it was just another day at the office. He could breath just fine. The left and right thing? Those were probably controlled turns by the tandem master. If you are indeed the author Chad Ghiron, it's a nicely written piece. It has a few inaccuracies in it, but as skydivers, we're quite used to that sort of thing.
