Canopy Control DVD

Anyone ever see "Canopy Control: Core Essentials" DVD hosted by Chris Gay? Saw it on chutingstar this morning and looks like a decent aid to canopy piloting progression but cost is a whopping 80 bucks! Anybody see it before and think it's worth it?

Wasn't worth the money... sad because other VASST movies I've seen are great.

"Parachute and it's Pilot" however is well worth the money.

I purchased it as well. At the time, it was helpful to me. ~But I only had 4 jumps at that time. The DVD covers the very basics on canopy flying, e.g turns, brake turns, flaring, flying the pattern….

The DVD also contains a wing loading chart. Which is a helpful quick glance reference.

At the recording scene in the background there is some guy with a weed blower. The noise takes away from the instructions and the Flamingos.

Try the back of Parachutist magazine - the USPA monthly magazine. You'll get it if you're a member. Blue Skies magazine might list as well - you can find them online.

Which is the best? That's subject to opinion, but ask around your DZ. Find one in your area and go for it.

Took one a few months ago w/ Jeff Provenzano--learned quite a bit. Probably not gonna buy after reading these posts. Perhaps another canopy course is in order.
