We have riggers waiting at the end of the day to wash them out. We don't get back in until 6 or 7 pm. The jump is around 9 am. We put the rigs in garbage bags with water. My old Javelin has been in to the Blue Hole 7 times and is holding up pretty well. Most of the jumpers bring gutter gear. Some have jumped their sport rig.

Gutter gear, baby. Not only is Rich the cover boy of May's Parachutist, there's also a great article inside all about the boogie. I also did an article for April's Blue Skies (which is hitting mailboxes right about now, I hope!) all about the experience and details of the Blue Hole jump.

The preface of the video says that these jumps only take place during february...is that because the water level rises and this blue hole becomes submerged again...or is there another reason? But very nice and fascinating pictures and videos.

That is when the boogie happens. The water level stays the same roughly. That is submerged coral all around it, not land.
