Opinions on my future rig colors?

Ready to stop renting and planning to order a Wings. Attached is the color combo I'm thinking of - black and purple. Any thoughts?

That was a borrowed jumpsuit, so no worries there.

I thought about using white for the trim, but plan to keep the container for a while and not sure about the dirty/yellowing factor down the road...

Purple harness?

That might make getting repairs done harder in the future. Field riggers may not have purple thread and purple webbing. And a new lot of webbing might not match the old on the harness.

But if that's what you really want go for it. Repairs can always go back to the factory.

Looks good!! Just take into the consideration the "Clash Factor" of the rig colors with Jumpsuits and other accessories!! I had a V-7 Vector some years ago in Lt. Blue and Drk. Blue. Great with colors that match...But!! My current rig is a Mirage, Black, black, black, black and black, black thread and binding tape too......Goes with ANYTHING!!!!!!

Not trying to be a dick but getting the rig in those colors will really limit your options when the time to resell it comes. There are few people who want that much purple on a container.

Of course, its your money, your rig and if you like it then of course I hope you get it and are happy showing it off but you should realize that if/ when you decide to sell it, it will likely be a long and difficult sell because of the colors. This might not be a problem if you plan on keeping it for its entire usefull life but few people do that.

I did think about this...for a split second. Then I considered the facts that I do plan to keep this for a looong time and that I am 5'2", so someone buying this will probably be a girl and not mind the purple. I think neon green/yellow/pink would be much harder to sell. The fact that I'm rather petite would be the main inhibitory factor in trying to sell it. JMHO.

You're shitting me..have a look around there are LOADS of purple base coloured rigs about.
I thought i was being different when i got my purple rig, but when you actually look there are HEAPS of them out there.

There is a similar rig/colors in the gear store here, I was looking at it this weekend...VERY nice combination.

Before I ordered new rigs for the team I jump with, I worked up 1/2 a dozen different ways of using our colors, printed them out and hung them on the wall for a week.

Having 'em out all day, I'd pull one or another down and toss it for whatever reason...end of the week I had the best one left, which wasn't really my first choice when I started.

Just sayin' if you're going to keep it for a few years, take a few days to make sure!

White pinstriping over the years have turned to gray (at least on my rig). So if you want to see how it would age, look at what it looks like with both white & gray pinstripes. If they both look good, then I wouldn't worry about getting white. Plus you get the advantage of having a new color scheme as the rig ages.

The above is not recommended for whole panels, just the pinstriping.

Dirt, resale, or ease of repair are not really a factor.

I have seen rigs that look like the Patridge Family bus. They clean up just fine and resale wasn't a problem at all. Didn't need repair till the 3rd owner.
