mitch8lem 0 #1 March 27, 2010 So I started skydiving last summer and made 10 skydives to bring me to the D category of my license. I have not made a skydive since Sep '09 and will be starting again in May. Will I need to retake ground school and start from beginning according to USPA guidelines? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for any replies.
AggieDave 6 #2 March 27, 2010 QuoteWill I need to retake ground school and start from beginning according to USPA guidelines? So you've already checked the SIM? Then you've answered your own question. Those previous jumps still count for something, but so much time has elapsed that you will need to sit through a jump course, go over malfunctions and relearn all of that muscle memory you had worked so hard to learn previously. Then you do a recurrency jump and your instructors will evaluate how many, if any jumps you'll need to repeat. This is a good thing, it is not a bad thing. Those rules are written in people's blood!--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
laughn_gas 0 #3 March 27, 2010 I had to stop for the winter while going through AFP. I think I was on level 5. Come spring time I did 1 jump with instuctor holding onto my harness, to make sure I had a stable exit. After that I picked up where I left off. See ya in a minute. Peace out!
