riggerrob 643 #1 March 4, 2010 Today's news included footage of a Kiran 2 jet trainer crashing at an air show in India. News footage also included one pilot ejecting from the doomed jet, but they only showed one second of the survivor hanging under a round canopy. What type of canopy was he hanging under? British? What type of ejection seat did he use? British? ....................................................................... Answered my own question by visiting www.martin-baker.com. Since the HJT-16 Kiran 1 uses a Martin-Baker Mk.4, H4HA ejection seat, we can extrapolate that the Kiran 2 also has a Martin-Baker ejection seat. FlyingChicken 0 #2 March 5, 2010 This is an old school seat, capable of 80 fps ejection with zero - zero capability. New MB seats are multi-mode electronically controlled, manually operated.
