formerjumper 0 #1 February 27, 2010 Hi all. I was seriously injured in a sky diving accident in March 1978 when I streamered in from 2800 feet. Dont ask me how I lived! Does any one know of any organization that keeps records of skydiving accidents that are not fatal? I am trying to find anyone or any newspaper article or skydiving organization that might have record of the incident. It happened at Ft Gordon, Ga. when I was jumping with a sport parachute club. tumbleroll 0 #2 March 2, 2010 An organisation that catalogs each and every accident occuring on a DZ?? Including from 30 years ago??? Sounds pretty unlikely.

Actually it sounds like the USPA, if like the APF (OZ) they keep records of incidents (fatal or not) they may well have an incident report from this particular jumpers event. You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! likestojump 3 #4 March 2, 2010 I am sorry formerjumper, but you sound like you are trying to find a generic resource to dig up information for the benefit of a SUING as a result much more recent injury. Please state your name (so we can find your injury), and name the sport parachute club where the accident occurred. I smell an attorney/paralegal doing their research to try to shutdown yet another DZ.

NovaTTT 2 #6 March 3, 2010 At risk of feeding a troll: USPA keeps records of incidents (fatal and non-fatal) *if* the incident is reported. Would they have a record from 30 years ago? Maybe - but maybe you should look in your old Parachutist. Similarly, the local newspaper probably reported the incident. It sounds fairly spectacular and newspapers love a spectacle. Finally - Are you looking for a "record" of your own accident? Why? It sounds like you know what happened."Even in a world where perfection is unattainable, there's still a difference between excellence and mediocrity."
