BIGUN 1,297 #6 November 12, 2009 Being a skydiver is what you do; it's not who you are... But, if you think it'll help you to get laid, go for it.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
CSpenceFLY 1 #7 November 12, 2009 I got certified to scuba dive in '93, made three dives and haven't done it since. Am I still a scuba diver?

ChrisL 2 #10 November 12, 2009 Quote am I still a skydiver? Does it matter? What does being "a skydiver" mean? Bragging rights? Call me crazy, but I think if you want to be "a skydiver", you kinda have to skydive. If you used to jump, but quit, then you may consider yourself a "former skydiver" __ My mighty steed

WooHoo 0 #16 November 13, 2009 I have interviewed folks for jobs who had skydiving in their CV's. When I asked them about it, and they revealed a tandem or static line experience. I figured they were misrepresenting themselves, and it went against them (none got hired). I have not jumped for two years so no longer consider myself a skydiver, but someone who has skydived. It is basically no big deal, but I think be yourself and don't look for labels to define yourself. But I think in answer to your questions, skydivers are current ex-skydivers are not. But if it gets you laid.................!!!!! who cares :o)

AggieDave 6 #25 November 13, 2009 A skydiver would be at the DZ drinking beer with his friends after sunset waiting for his ankles to heal. A skydiver would be excited (sure, a little nervous too) to get back in the air. A tourist is someone in and out of the sport like that. Sorry guy, you asked. All in all it reminds me of a joke about Clay: "I was in the Air Force and worked hard, but they don't call me an Airmen. I have gone to war as a contractor, but they don't call me a warrior. You F*** one sheep and BAM, you're a sheep-f**ker!" Its what you do, not what you did.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
