NWFlyer 2 #3 November 25, 2009 Enough time to comprehend all the ways in which they can possibly go wrong and make an informed assessment of the risk. Which, IMHO, is usually well after 200 jumps."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. skyjumpenfool 2 #4 November 25, 2009 Experience level is not important because no matter how many jumps you have, you're going to end up with a bloody face! .....I'm just saying..... billvon 2,989 #5 November 25, 2009 371 jumps, 13 CRW jumps and 4 cutaways are required. Seriously, do it when you understand what you're getting yourself into. We had two jumpers (300 jumps, 1000+ jumps) try it at Brown Field without knowing what they were doing. Result - one broken femur, a few broken teeth, one shredded main and one lost freebag. gearless_chris 1 #9 November 25, 2009 I say less than 101 jumps. Once you've done one, or a couple, you'll get over it and move on to something else. Stay away from straps of any kind, that's the biggest factor in the Mr.Bill gone horribly wrong stories. Ask some of the old timers at your dz how they used to do it back in the day, then do exactly what they say."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.

Sangi 0 #15 November 25, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tKUEgwsIgs Don't know where the name came from though.. aphid 0 #16 November 25, 2009 Quote Don't know where the name came from though.. Suddenly I feel unbelievably old :( Google "Saturday Night Live - Mr. Bill", then wait for the punch-line. It was a childish (opinion only) recurring bit on the precursor to so many equally juvenile programs today. It's likely there are some segments on YouTube or the like. Sangi 0 #17 November 25, 2009 I still don't see why did this type of skydive got this name? Is it because it's dangerous?"Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean

tjm 0 #19 November 25, 2009 QuoteI still don't see why did this type of skydive got this name? Is it because it's dangerous? If your doing it right your supposed to fall off and yell "Mr. BiiiiiiiiiiLLLLLLLLLlllllllllll!" with your voice fading as you fall farther away. This is done because Mr. Bill usely falls accompanied by getting squashed at the end of each scene, just like what can happen in a skydive. If you're not living on the edge; you're taking up too much room! Calvin19 0 #25 November 25, 2009 QuoteBy the time you get enough experience to do a Mr. Bill, you aren't going to want to do a Mr. Bill... After over 1000 parachute freefalls, openings, and landings I still love doing mr bills. I have designed and perfected several different methods and equipment to make it safe and easy. I do Mr Bills on BASE jumps (though rare) and while flying speed gliders and paragliders. A mr bill gives the jumper/pilot a challenge that does not resemble line dancing in the sky. No one started skydiving with the dream of the perfect 4-way RW load (or whatever 'experienced skydivers only' discipline therein) we started jumping for the beauty, the mental challenge, the friends. not the other stuff you pick up along the way. -SPACE-
