pilotdave 0 #26 November 11, 2009 QuoteI got a 150, but I am clearly not as smart as you since after reading your profile I don't see how anyone could have an 'A' license with 20 jumps. He used the word "whilst" in another post, so I'm guessing he's not from the US. I'm no genius, but I know they have different rules in different countries. And I got my A-license with 22 jumps or so. Coulda had it in 20 but I did a couple more that day before taking the written test. Too bad I didn't quit jumping then... I'd get a weird profile too. rehmwa 2 #30 November 11, 2009 QuoteQuoteHi CR Help me out am I reading your post right . You've got 20 jumps, been jumping for less than a year and think because your a "skydiver"your intellectually superior to a non jumper. Even worse you've appointed yourself as some kind of a spokeman for all skydivers about their intellectual superiority over non jumper's. I don't know about who you include in your group of "we" besides yourself and the mouse in your pocket. But just in case leave me out of it. +1 I can't stand jumpers that believe skydiving makes them a superior human being. Take a step down off your high horse. absolutely, it's just people with a common hobby but you gotta realize this is typical for people that join a new 'group' - it makes them feel special so they build it up in their minds it's the same reason that religions all over the world can get new converts to do outrageous things but can't get the same from people born in it.... ... Calvin19 0 #36 November 11, 2009 on your test I scored in the 145-159 GENIUS range for this test. and that is BS. After a fairly severe accident involving injury to my brain almost 4 years ago I have spent $30,000 IN THE LAST 3 YEARS for some of the most advanced Psychological, neuropsychological and performance examinations administered by some of the best doctors in the country. (the reason for this is FAA medical re-certification) Luckily, when I was between 6 and 14 I was going though a 'gifted student identification program' as I was 'ahead' of all other students in my classes. My score after 3 weeks of pretty intense testing was between 125 and 150 (these scores are of course the given score at that time when I was a young teen) this is interesting, and I was a good brain injury case study because I had these tests at a younger age before my accident. it is rare that a brain injury victim has 'control' data. turns out after my accident at age 23, I scored between 120 and 145 across the board, averaging out at 129. After 3 weeks of testing for part of these exams, I don't think a 5 minute online exam can show much about Intelligence Quotient.

Calvin19 0 #38 November 11, 2009 Quote Post your score, I wouldn't mind writing a blog on this as soon as I can get some half arsed evidence together! "Evidence" that is rich. I know some pretty redneck inbred idiot skydivers. I also know some very intelligent whuffos that strongly disapprove of skydiving and BASE jumping. I think the lack of intelligence would be shown by someone making statements like "Only stupid idiots jump out of planes..." or "People who jump from planes are generally smarter than those who don't"

skybill 22 #41 November 12, 2009 Quoteor so I've been told by many a whuffo.... but we all know that a Skydiver can see the bigger picture in life, and there is no doubt about it that someone who jumps out of planes has some sort of intellectual superiority over your average whuffo. Hell, if we didn't, the majority of us wouldn't have good jobs like we do to have the cash to jump! But I would like to know exactly what the difference is in IQ between joe whuffo and a Skydiver... or more so, I wouldn't mind knowing what the average IQ of a Skydiver is. To take the test, go to http://www.free-iqtest.net/. Post your score, I wouldn't mind writing a blog on this as soon as I can get some half arsed evidence together! Hey SnakeDog, Score?? Forget it! Whuffs saying to you (or me),"Only 'Stupid Idiots' jump out of airplanes!," has absolutely nothing to do with I.Q.! To the average ground bound whuff, getting any higher than the second floor or the buzz off a joint is for "Stupid Idiots!!" The "Fear of Flying," is everywhere. Why do you think there are so many bars in airports?? The average whuff is scared shitless of flying and has to be drunk as a skunk to get on an airplane because it's the only way they can get from point A to point B anymore. The Boat don't go there. How many people do you know that absolutely "Refuse" to Fly anywhere?? They'll walk, take the bus but FLY!! NO WAY... and jumping out of a plane?? You have to be kidding??SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

skybill 22 #43 November 12, 2009 Quote What about the skydivers that jumped out of the first airplane they ever rode in? How cool is that? Hi Fast Ed, Cool Beans! Back a few cases of beer ago when I was an active JM and I (both S/L and AFF) I had several FJ Students that had never rode in an airplane prior!! Not that they didn't want to but it just never occurred. They didn't react any different than FJ Students that had ridden in an aircraft prior. 'Ya gotta remember that the whuf yelling the "Stupid Idiot" thing is loaded to the gills with "FEAR!!" Making the decision to jump is fearful enough but with training we seem to get a handle on it. More jumps, more training and the fear factor diminishes. Somewhere back when, there was an article in Parachutist (somewhere in '64-'65) titled "Straws in the wind" trying to "explain" this thing we do. As I recall the author quoted that the motto of I believe the (Canadian) Royal Airforce Parachute School was,"Knowledge Dispells Fear." 'Don't know if that'll help the Stupid Idiot yellin' whuf very much though.SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
