JohnRich 4 #1 September 13, 2009 September "Parachutist", article "Cool and Collected", about the USPA BOD meeting. There is a blurb about USPA Foreign Lifetime Membership cost being increased from $1,000 to $2,500. What is the reason for increasing the cost to foreign members by 250%? Wow! Are they trying to discourage foreigners from joining the American skydiving organization? Is the cost of mailing a magazine to foreigners that much higher? JerryBaumchen 1,354 #2 September 13, 2009 Hi John, I saw that also. There are cars on the market that cost ~$75,000 which are too much for me. There are cars on the market that cost ~$250,000. If I am not going to buy a $1,000 membership why would I care about a $2,500 membership. But I agree, it is rather unfair IMO. They just took a very small market and made it much smaller. Beachbum 0 #3 September 13, 2009 I wonder what insurance rates are like overseas compared to the US??As long as you are happy with yourself ... who cares what the rest of the world thinks?
virgin-burner 1 #4 September 14, 2009 you should ask the question the other way around; you're not skydiving anywhere in europe with your USPA insurance; needs to be covered by at least 1'000'000$ in some, 3'000'000$ in other countries. thats 3rd party liability only, nobody here cares for insurance for yourself..“Some may never live, but the crazy never die.” -Hunter S.
