BaronVonBoll 0 #1 August 21, 2009 I am jumping a a sabre one. The one one jump I must not have rolled thr nose very well and I got slammed a bit on opening. I was thinking about that opening on my next jump and reached for my risers to early. my ring finger on my right hand got between the front and rear risers just as the opening shock hit. I didnt get spanked but I broke my finger just below the first joint on the finger. Lesson learned!

riggerrob 643 #4 August 22, 2009 The only time my Sabre 1 spanked me was when I lost control of the slider while shoving it into the bag.
pinkfairy 0 #5 August 22, 2009 Ditto! Thanks for posting, maybe we learned something. Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet. I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?

BUT I DO look after my slider very well. (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome

Not entirely convinced that it's necessary to start grabbing risers quite that early in the deployment either. Lesson learnt.
mrbiceps 0 #8 August 24, 2009 I have a sabre 1 also and got sick of having to stuff around with the nose when packing. Get a bigger slider made up that is 33 x 30 inches and your problems will be solved. I pack mine in no time and dont touch the nose and it has the nicest openings every time. best $100 i have ever spent.
