skydiverek 63 #7 March 2, 2006 I was paying $1 for 7000 ft AGL in 1997 (clubmembers only, Gliwice, Poland). 3000 ft AGL was around 30 cents. All prices in U.S. dollars.
jheadley 0 #8 March 2, 2006 Quotemy DZ might not be the cheapest, but we do pretty well. We were $14 for 10,000' until a few weeks ago, but now we're $15. Do you know what the price of avgas is in your area? My dropzone used to be 16 dollars for 10,000 feet, then they went to 17 dollars, then when fuel prices spiked in September 05 they went to 20 . I know the price of avgas in that area has since come down to about 3.60 a gallon but the jumps are still 20 dollars.

HydroGuy 0 #10 March 2, 2006 Now if we could combine the 5 dollar hop and pops @ Lodi, with the 70 ruble (2.50 USD) pack jobs at that Russian DZ...you could do 133 back to backs for a grand.Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary
firstime 0 #11 March 3, 2006 I pretty much don't care about lift tickets because it's my choice to skydive. DZO's profit on a fun jumper is approx $2 maybe $3 per jump. Most medium DZ's are not rich. It's a passion for the sport. But as time goes on with increased fuel cost and Insurance, I would guess that it will become a sport for the wealthy. The system is making it difficult, the DZO's are jusy trying to stay ahead. maybe thats why base is so popular???
mdrejhon 8 #12 March 3, 2006 I saw another thread that a dropzone in Venezuela has $13 tickets to 15000 in AN28 aircraft.
